Rep Power: 241 who cares type r or not. Just because they use red doesn't mean you can't use it yourself. As long as you don't go overboard and add an actual "Type R" emblem then I say do what you want

Rep Power: 256 The red is a JDM emblem and unless you are going for that I'd stick with the silver. I have a blue emblem on my car right now. It was indiglo until I got pulled over by a State Trooper and now the light is disconnected and it is just a sweet blue. I've had it since my car was SSM and loved it, but now that it is custom painted the blue really accents it.
