So I got laid off from work today, then I got lost, then I paid 13 bucks for a carwash and 4 minutes later, i get in a wreck with an expired license......what a day!!! Some idiot turned into oncoming traffic, got plowed into and swung around and hit me So I have a couple questions: Will the insurance company look up/ask/find out if my license is expired. and will it affect me getting paid for a no-fault accident. It expired 10 days ago when i turned 25. So I'm gonna go to the bmv in the morning and get it renewed. Also, how bad would my hood have to be damaged to get a new one? It'll have to be painted but I want a carbon fiber one. So if the corner of my hood gets bent down where the fenders dented in will they replace the hood? I gotta get a new bumper but i have an unpainted tsunami in the garage. can i just have them paint it and put it on? I gotta get new headlights and the light output on mine suck, what do you guys suggest?

You will probably need to talk to the place that will repair your car to ask them if insurance could just cover that.

As far as I know if you're not at fault for an accident but they find out you did something wrong like have no license or insurance, they put it on you anyway. It was pretty stupid of you to drive without a license, I hope they don't give it back to you.

Well I renewed my license the next day and the ins. co. didn't say a thing about it. And Dex as far as you go, I was reading through your posts and it appears that every time you post it is a completely stupid or negative comment. You shouldn't have a problem with the license issue. You would have a problem if the police officer on the scene asked to see your license and he/she saw that it was expired. Actually, depending on your state laws, you could have gone to jail for a couple of days for driving without a license (expired or suspended).

I doubt that your insurance company cares about your license status. My insurance company (Country) only cares about who was at fault and your driving record.

You guys shouldn't be putting eightball down because of a license that expired 10 days before he noticed. Can you guys say that you have not forgotten an expiration date in your life? I don't constantly look at my DL so I don't really always remember what date it expires on. It's an honest mistake.

I had and accident that looked just like yours. The hood wasnt damaged that much and the shop said they could fix it. A few hits with my jack before the insurance adjuster came by and magically i had a new hood.

Sorry to hear about your shatty day. One must look at the postives(if any). My lady always says bad things seem to happen in threes so I think you are good for a while. But lol it could be an asian thing. At least you are 1-ok and not hurt 2- still able to drink 3- able to get away from the whole license thing. If any thing to take away from it is make sure you do not run with out a license you could get into trouble.

So help me out guys. How much will it cost to paint my hood? And if i bend up the corner of it, how much will it cost for a new hood plus paint? That way I can get a c/f hood. How much is a new bumper plus paint? I'll just have them paint my tsunami and put the money towards a c/f hood. I want to get something good out of this whole situation......
