Rep Power: 312 doin it myself.
ok so, in light of me NOT finding any shops around my town to paint my engine bay parts, ive decided to just to the damn thing myself.
i was thinking silver to match the outside BUT i am willing to listen to suggestions.
some stuff includes the plug cover, brake fluid cap, clutch cap, battery tie down, and the hood pole.
i want silver but not SSM cause its too much for the can. i have some paint left over from the eyelids but idk how much.
any tips or advice? maybe i could DIY it and post pics.

Rep Power: 322 You can go big or you can go home, I don't really care what color, as long as you don't go chrome!
Do silver accents, don't make EVERYTHING silver, that'll look retarded...

Rep Power: 312 well im looking for spray paint i can get at advanced auto parts or something. it wont be ALL one color. i plan on getting an engine dress kit to match whatever the color is. it WILL NOT BE CHROME.
whats the difference between silver accents and everything silver?

Rep Power: 322 Accents put emphasis on different things, big things, unique things. Once you pop open the hood, you want untrained eyes to focus on things that aren't normally there or just different from stock.

Rep Power: 256 I did it silver, pick a color and go with it. Im not too happy with 2 pieces, so I am taking my spark plug + fuse cover to be painted with the the same color paint as my car.

Rep Power: 295 get some colormatched paint from paintscratch.com and some rustoleum clearcoat from homedepot and paint it or get some gunmetal or red caliper paint with high ceramic content and paint

i think u should do it a kinda dark blue, not like navy blue but something darker than normal blue
and paint sparingly, very few parts, i liked the idea of highlighting certain peices

Rep Power: 312 it is NOT rice to paint the engine pieces in a tasteful way. gearbox, i can't believe you of all people would think its rice. the whole point of doing it is to keep the **** clean cause when its painted its easier. what color would gunmetal be exactly? like a dark grey or silver?
calipers are probably gonna be next after this little project of mine. im gonna get some red H emblems for the front and back and then paint the calipers red.
back to the point, i don't want rice under my hood. its not like that. its just to make it and keep it nice and CLEAN. blackbullet had his parts painted the orange to match his color. granted it was for show but still, its something i want to do for myself.

these are my color choices kind of. i now see gunmetal and its like a mix between grey and black. aluminum would match well with the rest of the car.
im liking the light gunmetal and gunship grey. any ideas on other colors?

Rep Power: 256 hmm.. imo the d17 is not beautiful. Kind of puny. Drives good, but nothing worth arguing about. I will say if I owned a faster car with a bigger engine, I would probably not color the engine parts, but my civic is no sport car, and there is not an aftermarket supplier of spark plug covers in multiple styles for the d17.

Sorry I cannot post pics. The civic is back @ the body shop for re-blending of the rear bumper. Im not sure I would right now, because The paint job I did kind of faded.

Rep Power: 240 personally, i don't think it's rice to do it. as long as you have the performance to back it up, you're good. but, i wouldn't do it, i'd just leave it how it is, but keep it all shiny and clean like i do. it looks better to me, but it's not my car man, your car your decision. i gave you my opinion so the choice is yours.
i have no problem admitting that i am RICE. YES YOSHIEMASTER IS FUHKIN RICE. YOSHIEMASTER IS SO RICE HE IS A RICE-CHEF!
i dn't have the money to do the performance mods, so i have to settle for the little things right now. i'm a junior in high school and my only sources of income are birthdays/Christmas/Iranian new year.
