Rep Power: 0 99 Civic Ex Seden with mods - 123k Miles..
Im very interested in this car, its exactly what I wanted. (This will be my first car) The thing is.. its got hella of miles on it?
They want 9k.. I figure I can get that down to about 8 something or a straight 8k. The engine has some mods.. more done to it then I know. It looks like the guy was a racer and got repoed Anyways.. Black 99 Civic Ex Seden with engine mods, Exhast, Lowered, Nice Cd Player, 123k miles, very clean (Only one power door lock is dead, no biggy) 8,350k is what im going to try and get? Good deal? This is thro some used car dealer? Is that bad? Im = Noob. He sounded like he trusted the car, I asked if I could take to my mechanic and he said yep go ahead. Havent yet because I dont have a mechanic!

Rep Power: 0 Opps I thought this was the gen. section.. my bad. Not a good buy? I checked the Kelly Blue Book and it said the price would be around 8k? I heard hondas were good for 300k miles lol? I dont think I can get a 7th from a dealer at that price? I have no money to buy from a owner.. plus the banks wont loan me ****.

Rep Power: 252 Walk away. I would never buy a modded car anyway, you dont know how much it may have been abused before. Yeah a honda will last you a long time, but not if you dont take care of it. Walk away, get a used 7thgen.

Rep Power: 0 buying a modded car is typically a bad idea cuz that usually means that they beat on the car a little which would make it less relaible. Obtain all service records if possible and find out all of the mods that he has done to that car and all that r currently on it. 9k = no way. maybe 8 but i dont think u will get it for 6k. u cant negotiate 1/3 of the price of the car exspecially when it is only 9k!

ehm.........if you want to play safe, check the dealership first.....maybe get that automotive free booklet from grocery store and look around.....
honda dealer might not be your best case since they tend to overprice the used cars with their "certified" thingie...
i bought mine from local toyota dealer.....they put my 02 civic on the booklet 2 years ago at 24K miles (now 39K).....
sincethey're not a honda dealer, they can't put that "certified" thingie on the hondas......hence, cheaper price..... finally, if you really interested in that car, come to that dealership many times a week....talk to the same sales person and possibly the used manager too..
try to convince them that u really like that honda and want to get it with "Gooood" price.....hehehehe...
i got approximately $1000 discount by just doing that...bothering them for about 2 or 3 weeks....(patience, my friend)
alas, private party is good too....but i think it's very though to find people who's willing to sell their lovely civic with "good" price nowadays....

Rep Power: 306 good call on not buying it. my friend got a 2000 dx coupe with 38k miles on it in 2002 for 7800 dollars. that was 3 years ago. anyways, get a 7thgen, you should be able to find something reasonable.
