I have them, but I will NEVER install them again. It is such a bitch. took me 3 hours to get it perfect. Because the hood closes at an angle compared to the radiator support you have to modify the pin to get it to work.

Then you run the risk of breaking the shaft. Trust me, I tried with a soft mallet hammer.

exactly what has to be modified. I have them as well. I just never installed it. I wanted to get the locking ones when I had turbo so thiefs wouldnt be able to get in. How did u modify it to fit? do u have to cut something? im gonna get these installed soon when I go turbo again. Im paying a shop like 40 bucks to do them so I wanna give em advice.

hey ajhdragon, so doing it how you did doesnt have any problmes? just fit great right away?

also correct me if im wrong, but once youve got these in do you take the stock hood latch off or just leave it and unlock these before you pop the hood?

HELL NO you don't take the stock latch off. If the pins fail then you still want some sort of fail safe so that your hood doesn't fly off.

I'm too old for DIY's anymore, if i have the hood open I'll try to remember to take a picture. I have my pins where the bumper stop for the stock hood used to be also.

once yo uremove the hood stops the hood pins basically slide right in there. take your headlights off to tighten the pins nice and tight, it makes it alot easier that way. and you still keep your stock hood latch.

ive used stock latch for a year now. When going like 90+ the hood goes up and down but i never had a problem with the hood flying off. I just want extra security of the hood being stable while having the security of thiefs not being able to pop the hood easily.

Been about 3 weeks since my car was broken into, The pulled the hood by breaking the cable inside the drivers fender. Pulled my battery.

Worried about my cars safety still.

Bump for pictures of the install and more details!!!

I have those pins. Waiting for the hood to come in (this week) but I'm having a friend (has done body work 20+ years) do it for me.

Those pins cost me like $30 on ebay.
