Well I got $crewed Car completely destroyed
wow that sucks, how did ur car look b4 u took it to them???? i can see the potential in ur car though, it would've look SWEET, hopefully u can still the the front end convertion, that would be the first from what i've seen, but anyways props on what u were planning, hopefully u can still pull it off
That's a shitty situation, sorry to hear that. Same sort of thing happened to my brother in law with his acura legend. Shop shut down and he was screwed, but his car wasn't in that bad of shape. Hopefully everything works out for ya, even though it sounds like theres nothing to work out.

Thats bullshit that they said it wasn't stolen! It wasn't at the shop where you left it, it was removed from the shop. So that means some one stole it.

Good Point. Technically you gave the car to the shop to have your **** done.. in the shop. They had no authorization from you that they could just bring the car wherever they want. When the car was removed from the shop I believe that makes it a stolen car because one you weren't informed of the removal and two these guys are douchebags. Anyways I'm really sorry to hear what happened man, That blows so bad. Good luck with fixing it up n shat stay up man.. stay up.

holy **** this has got to be the worst thing that has ever happened to someone trying to get there **** hooked up at a shop. this scares me about some of the local shops around here where i am, i rather take it to someone with a good reputation and have been in business for quite some time already.

Yeah, he has reason.
Please read your insurance contract carefully, the shop is a sucker but I think your insurance company is one too, they are trying to do an insurance fraud. There is no way a word "give" can be use. In law, "give" means you register in the motor office that you have done a "donnation" to the other party. The other party has to be your direct relatives. Otherwise, it would be consider as "transfer", "sale" in which sale tax would apply.
No matter at what angle you look at it, no way it can be considered the car was given to the shop. No way.
Don't let the insurance company goes away, they have been collecting your fees! And that is worth!
I spend way too much time on this website

WoW Thats when i would use every hook up and contact that i have and someone would be ****ed up bad....Sorry to hear all of that and it sucks that the shop doesnt want to finish what you started but at least you were able to get free parts.....Good luck with it man and post some pics
Not calling bs, but that doesn't make sense. You didn't give the car to anyone. If the shop owner ran away, then he's the one that stole it, esp. if he's the proprieter of the shop.
That or fraud.
Either way there's no way you can't get your money back. If there was such a gigantic loophole like that, people would be setting up Ferrari shops, strip them for parts and run away and say "oh well"
