If it was that easy, everyone would do it. People would purposely break into there own car and claim alot of stuff they may never had. Now for an extra fee, you can add those kinds of coverage to it, but in most any case, insurance companies want actual proof of those items. Even homeowners insurance usually requires reciepts, pictures, or some kind of proof that you had the items that you are claiming. And again, that also applies even if you do have extra coverage. ANd like mentioned above, some companies do have a form that you can fill out any aftermarket stuff on your car, but again require pictures or proof.
Ok, if you read what i said, i said sound equipment installed in factory locations. A standard home owners policy will cover up to 1k for stolen electronic equipment, however, this means if you had a tv in your car because you were moving, then its covered. But if you have a sub and amp, that is not under home, but would be under the auto insurance provided you select the coverage. This is how personal property is defined under home insurance as stated by The Hartford Insurance Company.

"Most property of the insured, other than real estate, common to a residence.
For example, personal property does not include: animals, birds or fish, aircraft, motor vehicles other than motorized equipment used for the maintenance of the premises (lawn mower, snow blower, chain saw, etc.), boats other than rowboats or canoes."

This is what coverage C (personal property) under a home policy covers as defined by the HO3 standard home insurance form that is accepted by all 50 states. Look at the bold statement.

Coverage C provides:
worldwide coverage for all non-scheduled personal property owned or used by the insured
• coverage on a named peril basis (theft, fire or vandalism) for personal property while in transit with a moving company or property in storage at a location other than the residence premises. If furniture or personal property is dropped, scratched or lost by the moving company it is not covered under The Hartford program.
Note: Insureds should ask the moving company about the company's legal liability
for loss or damage.
• coverage for property of others while on the part of the residence premises occupied by the insured or property of a guest or residence employee while at any residence occupied by an insured.
• coverage up to the Coverage C limit for items kept in a storage facility are covered.
Our limit of liability for personal property usually located at an insured's residence, other than the residence premises, is 10% of the limit of liability for Coverage C, or $1000, whichever is greater.

Both of these were directly copied from The Hartford Insurance Company home policies.

Insurance companies understand that there is no feasable way to provide proof for everything you may own. Hence a contract of the utmost good faith. Thats why people are often better off after a claim than they were before, even though thats not what its intended for.

so i was too lazy to read this word for word, but it looks like something that is right to my knowledge. the first time my car was broken into i had a buncha **** laying around. AAA told me that i could claim personal property stolen under homeowners insurance. the problem with that was that the deductible for that, at least for me, was a lot higher. so i didn't make a claim under homeowners, and consequently don't know how stringent they are on receipts and what not. but you can claim stolen personal property under homeowners insurance.

those fvckin' ***********! i hate hearing stories like this. these people will try any and everything to get what you have. they don't give a rats *** what happens to your stuff, or how much you'll have to pay to repair it either.

at home, i feel pretty comfortable at night because my car is parking in a gated community. but when i take it out at night, or stay somewhere else, i don't sleep well knowing fvckers like this exist.

I live in southwhest philadelphia. Right down the street from the infamous 61st Races.

Nah i didnt see them, my neighbor vaguely saw them. He tells me it was like 5 guys. it was around 1:30 am when this happened. I wasn't woken up by my neighbors untill like 2:00 am. Im a heavy sleeper. LOL

Well everythings fixed now, i got a new window but it seems to have a green tint to it. I guess the 02+ civics had a green tint in the window. But i also tinted over it with 20%. Doesn't bother me too much.

The most hurtful part was they took my PSP!!! i love that thing!!
My cd's were all burned mixed cd's so they dont really matter. They probably took about 100 bucks worth of dvd's that was in the cd case (about 5 movies) including my DRIFT BIBLE!!!!

Upon further inspection they did try to attempt to take my wheels off. My rear driver side buddyclub wheel is now all scratched up where the lug is. They tried to jam fit the stock lug wrench (found in my trunk) onto my VOLK RAYS lugs. Even if they did get it off, the 7 sided lug could have stopped them, or atleast slow them down.

THey smashed my window opened my hood and pulled my battery way to quickly. I think i need to invest in LOCKING hood pins even though i have just a stock hood!!!!

I lived in this neighborhood for about 15 years. The demograpic changed from upper lower class citizens (GOOD) for the first 10 years; to low low low lower class citizens (BAD). My aunt got car jacked bringing groceries into her house (2 houses down). My dads van was stolen. Various other cars have been vandalized the same way. I really need to move.

holy chit man...i have a dvd rip of the drift bible hehe...but damn psp is the worst...luckily they didnt get ur rims either...i have special 7 sided lug nuts too which are actually very rare so some dude tried to jack my rims and break into my eclipse one time but they found too many obstacles in the way...lug nuts, shaved door handles, alarm, cops all around where my eclipse is stored, dead battery, etc etc...even if they got into the car they wouldnt have been able to start it cuz the battery was dead and acted as a kill switch...sometimes i disconnect the spark plug wires just in case **** happens
