2002 Civic EX: AEM v2 sounds like a DAMN BEAST, the sound is worth it. Now I have greddy evo 2 cat-back and i can't really hear it until i'm in vtec land.

I'm not sure about the AEM CAI vs the V2, but my V2 says it's a cold air on the box and everything but it sits right behind my battery in my engine bay as if it was a short ram. Kind of deceiving but heh.

AEM v2 has been dyno proven to produce more then any standard CAI on the market including AEM CAI, Check AEM website and you can pull up graph, as for me I noticed a different in HP but mainly in the torque because our little Vic's don't have much at all.

I got some weird looks from people right when i put it in, very unique sounding.

Another plus with the V2 is you don't need a bypass valve!

did i mention it sounds awesome?

LOL these guys are looking at AEM's dynos of their own product, taken from their own site as "proof".

Heres a hint. Independent dynos have shown the V2 to be a waste of money. Just get a regular filter on a stock CAI if you want that extra .8WHP over the SRI, but as for the brand any major name is fine. Get whatever is cheaper, injen, AEM, whatever.

K&N typhoon SRI gives better gains. Oh and didn't the V2 give 18whp on an acura rsx type-s? *Not from the aem dyno either. It was a mag dyno test or something.

^this may help. http://performance.clubrsx.com/intaketest2.html

as for intakes on the d17 powerplant, i performance isnt an issue as all intakes for the d17 show little to no power gains. if you want the "better" intake under the "performance" catergory, then your looking at .5hp differences.

as for vs vs CAI, i would have to go with CAI only because it wont heat soak on long periods of driving (highway). however, you run the risk of hydrolocking
