What should I buy? Scion tC or Honda EX SE
#31
if you are gonna get the civic don't let the dealer fool you into paying for a bunch of extra **** that isn't that much better on the se... just get a plain ol' ex... but then i guess it depends if you plan on actually spending money on aftermarket accessories... i just don't think the se is worth the markup.

Rep Power: 296 For your money, the tc is better. Looks i like the 7th gen better, but when the 8th gen comes out, its going to blow the tc out of the water.
its

Rep Power: 0 lol i cant believe people are consideiring scions... i couldnt be stuck in the same car as a thousand other "gen y" girls blaring pop music.... but at least some turbo stuff is being made for them... but still i just laugh my *** off when i see those commercials with the modded scions hehehehehe. RSX is a race proven car, one of the best FWD cars on the market even, so if your going for that in that price range its that or a golf gti 1.8t.

Rep Power: 296 i think people forget that the current si and rsx are 3000lb+. I bet even with 8th gen si will be 3000+lbs if you add all the safety features that its going to come with. A TC would be comparable to an si but cheaper, yes the si is still faster but its also 3k cheaper. Price to performance ratio wise the TC blows the ex and si out of the water.
I dont understand why people think the camry engine is crap?!?! The performance potential of that engine is a lot higher then our d17's. The camry engine is probably more reliable then our civics and there not plagued with dying out tranniess like our d17's are. My ' 96 camry went 190k before i traded her in for my 04 civic. Both the tranny and engine were still strong.
the only thing i dont like about the tc is its looks and gas mileage. I dont understand how a camry that weights 200lbs more then the TC gets better mileage with the same engine...lol.

I think the TC is a great deal for 16k (that's msrp, I don't know what they're actually selling for), and I think you'd be nuts not to get the factory installed supercharger.

The TC wasn't out yet when I got my car, so I've never actually driven one, but it sure is nice looking. I'd check it out for my next car except that I want AWD for snowboarding (wrx here I come).
I don't know anything about turbos for the '05.
Congrats on the family... I'll stick to dogs.

Rep Power: 0 yeah, tc factory supercharged definately. Im selling my vic/turbo and everything. Just get a car thats faster and you dont have to waste all the money on to make faster cuz its gonna be a slow POS and youll be broke as hell doing nothing but sitting home having a boring life but a fast car that you wont be able to drive cuz youll have no money for gas and it will drive you nuts and damn. hehe. sorry. Just get the scion over a vic.

Rep Power: 323 after my Si, ill move on to the tC. ill keep it plain on the outside with just a drop.....and then i wanna boost it. im waiting for toyota to release the supercharger for it (brings it up to 200hp) and ill see how it does and maybe when i buy one it will have the blower on it already....depending on how they hold up over the next yr-yr and a half
so, if you didnt already know, id buy the tC over the civic....even tho ive been die=hard honda

supercharger = more efficient, less maintenance, factory installed with a 5 yr warrenty from Scion.
