my friend has a 91 crx (claims si) and he is selling it for 600 bucks. i plan on checkin out the car tellin him theres a bunch of made-up **** wrong and offering him 350 for it. so after buy the crx for 350, i plan on doin some stuff to it for like a grand or maybe 1500. im going to completely gut the thing. everything except driver seat and maybe half the dash lol.
ive seen these things get down to like 1600 pounds estimated so im thinking a 50 shot of nitrous with intake and exhaust will get me kinda quick.
suggestions , comments, ideas welcome. just nothing ridiculous like stuffing a v8 or engine swap or anything.
if you know the engine code that would help too thanks every1

personally, If I were to obtain a CRX.... I wouldnt make it in to a drag car... Rater, I'd make it in to an open track car similar to my friends CRX. Seriously, its much more fun to be on a road course then a drag strip.

first of all the engine out of a 91 crx wouldnt be able to handle a 25 shot of nitrous, let alone a 50 shot. the damn thing would fall apart before you got the chance do gut it and what would you do with it once you've spent about 2,000 dollars on it and its starting to get quick? if you want somthing quick get a sport bike. you'll have a girlfriend in less than a week and get laid 5 days a week. thats what ya need to do

wow great replys... seriously i mean it. pains in the a$$ last i checked this is general auto ramblings where you can talk about any car... i have a 7thgen vic but im curious what others think about the crx.
as for screwing over my friend... he paid 300 for it... drove it twice burnt clutch then did the clutch himself and he doesnt even know how to change oil, then he parked it in the driveway for months and months. if anything hes still screwin me if i give him 350

If I were your friend, I'd kick the **** out of you. Why you want to lie to him? Just tell him you know what he paid for it, and this is what you'll give him.
As for what I'd do:
B16 swap, parts are easier to come by, and last time I checked, they didn't make mounts for much else to swap in there. I had one I bought from my friend's family when he got killed (on him crotchrocket). It had a small block chevy motor in it. Fast as hell in a straight line, but too much power to auto-x, IMO. Anyway, whatever you decide, it's your car, so mod it how you want.

probably the d15 considering what you say your buddy's automotive knowledge is. nobody gets rid of a B-series powered crx for that price.. or it could be a d16. so right now the cars got probably 91-110 hp.. but expect a loss in power due to age and whatnot. comparison to what i've seen stock crx's can run low 16's (manual that is). if it was my crx i'd gut it pull the motor and drop a completely built b16a and turbo.. you could easily make over 300 hp. thats alot more money but with that much power you'd be running really low numbers. just a stock b16a with around 6-7 psi will put you in mid-low 13s imagine 14-18 psi. or if you eant to go all motor to an ls/vtec swap. those can make around 175 hp and 150ish tq. i got another friend who has the ls/vtec in his crx and runs high 14s with bolt ons.
conclusion: no nitrous on that motor.. air intake and header will not see much gain as the stock crx motor is a sohc.

it would be pretty cheap.... id spend a little more mula and just build a nice b18 for it.
if its just a project car thats what id do. take my time and build a decent motor for it then put a nice suspension under it.
