Yes it is....Moving to members rides talk. I would say yes only if it has frame damage, and if the cost of the damage is more than the value of the car.

Easily. The Big question on weather or not the Insurance Co will want to total the car is the airbags.... $$$$$. and if the car needs a frame pull... Even so, if you really want the car that damage is quite easily repaired. I've seen entire rear ends from the C pillar back replaced on cars before, and with a good shop it should be repaird to new if not better then new condition.

fixable...yes. But that does not mean it will be economical to fix. The insurance will probably write it off as totaled. Especially with both airbags deployed. you'll need a door, hood, fender, lower arm, rim, tires, hubcap, bumper, all the stuff behind the bumper, the whole car will have to be painted, not to mention all the straightening work to be done. Top all that with airbag work $$$$$$$. They will probably total it, write you a check, then drop you.
yeah the frame is bent ill say, the roof around the sunroof is bowed out, the lower a-arm is snapped, they were writing the estimate tonight and will finish it tommorow morning and tell me if its a total loss. hmmm...

airbags alone cost an arm and a leg to get replaced. Most likely they will 'total' it to save money.
well good news maybe, the american honda finance corp (who we have the loan through) is going to get us another 7thgen with the insurance check when we pay this one off (my credit has gone kinda sour due to a s10 repo) , im thinking silver with black interior, no more hood vents though. thats if the dealership can work it out. but the guy i bought my civic from still works there and he's seen the progression from the civic stock to the civic before it was wrecked. so he can hook it up. i hope this works out, i already miss my civic it hasn't even been 24 hrs. ill let everyone know tommorow when i go to the dealership.
insurance estimate $9,500 for repairs. and value of the car is only $11,640. im pretty sure they will total it. and my wife says i cant do anything to our new civic, so i may be selling some stuff...
