Just curious, our cars are reffered to as EM2's right? I got an 04, and was shoppin around at truehonda.com. We are EM2's right? right?
(what does em2 stand for?)

yeah ... why are we em2's ... I never really understood that either. 99-00 Si is the EM1 ... which is totally different ... while the 96-00 non Si are the EK ... which are very similar to the EM1

Wanna REALLY scratch your head? The 1.7EL is based on the 2001+ Civic sedan platform, and has the same code (ES) but the 1.6EL, based on and sharing a majority of its parts with the 96-00 Civic platform (EK, EJ...confusing enough), gets chassis code MB.

RSX is heavier stock for stock than the EM/ES if I recall. Thus a DC5-R weighing as much as the ES would be in keeping with Honda's TypeR tradition of stripping off weight and upping the horsepower.

Why couldn't we all live in a world where everyone got a DC5 chassis in their civic coupe. There was someone on the forum that said they used lighter materials and double welded the joints on the DC5.

em2 is chassis code in your VIN number. its the 3rd, 4th and 5th letter on every 01-05 coupe VIN.
Nindoo - Unfortunately, honda uses the same grade steel for their honda and acura lines. and double welds? highly unlikely.
