The Strangest Thing ...
so, since I put on my ebay high-flo cat, I've had a check engine light ... I know its not good for the car but I'm lazy and savingfor other things... So before you all start screaming "search for it!", check this out..
I've had this light for almost a year now... I'm going to my new house tonite from my apartment I'm moving out of so I can paint a room .... I'm cruising about 40mph when I see something black in the road in front of me... I floor the brake pedal but it was too late... In front of me is a sleeping 40-60 pound black lab .... I absolutely cream it going about 25 - hit it right where my front tag should be,and run over it with my 18's coming out the back .... being an animal friendly person, I stop to check the dog, which by now was yelping and howling and trying to get up... well, long story short, I sit there waiting for the cops and watch this dog die .... real depressing ... I get a flashlight out and check my ride ... everything is fine ... so after the dog dies and I've waited 30 minutes for the no-show cops, I leave..... driving along swerving a little making sure my steering is still tight and I realize, I have no check engine light now???? drove like 20 more miles and no more light ...
So, if you have a check engine light, run over someones dog... worked for me?

We need a DIY for that!
Naahh.... poor dog. But I commend you for stopping. I've been there, sometimes you just cannot avoid it.
Odd thing about the engine light, though....

So the dog was just sleeping on the road or has it been ran over by other cars already? The dog probably scraped off one of your wires on your cat thats why your check engine light is gone.
