all i'm saying is.. 16% tint in ohio (50% is legal) is a badddd thing. gets ya an $80 ticket in South Bloomfield. ha.. i found that out last week at out meet on the way to Columbus.. damn pigs. oh well.. i'm not stripping it, i'll take $80 tickets all day long..

yea def get 20. i have 20 on rear 3 and 35 on front 2. i regret not getting 20 all around. all my friends have 10-20 all around (except front) and cops dont care. depends where you live.

i just got my new civic (loving it) want to get it tinted, but dont have too much cash. i want to know a good place to get the tint done and have it look great. i live in so cal so if any one has any recommedations... holla

as long as the cops can see in your ok. I had a 88 toy sr5 I 2 laiers of 25% on the doors and back seat windows and 5% on the rear. I had a cops follow my all though town and just as i was getting on the highway he nailed me. told me it was to dark he cant see in, gave me 5 working days to take it off, or $90, and he could get me agin. So just keep it light so they can see in.

okay thanks for all ya input..despite this i dunt wanna get 35 tints cuz they are dum lite? why waste 180 dollars on a window that hardly looks tinted? my civic is stock and a couple thought i had tints.if im gunna dish out 180 dollars i want my civic too look nice..35 is too light so its either 20 or no tints..

i got 20% all the way around, i live in VA and the law states any modifications is illegal....the 3rd day i had my tint got pulled over it was a $85 ticket...sux...but i say FU(K the police

I put 20% on the sides and 35 on the back. When I got pulled over they used some thing to check the tint level and it registered at 15%. I have only got pulled over once for my tint. Check out my ride to see how it looks

I dont how to post pics sorry but i have 5% limo tint all around. I love it , i've had it since the spring and I gotten one ticket, If you dont want to worry about cops than go legal but if you dont give a **** like i do then get real dark like 10% or 5 like mines. I love it when people have no idea if im in the car or not! ANd i think i give my a car a stealth look. If somebody want post the pic up !!

Called the local "expert" tint place...$275 to do my sedan, 3-year warranty!

I'm thinking RIP OFF.

I think I might have found someone from the local audio dealer that will do it on the side for $150...turns out he did one of the Polk show cars a couple of years ago, so it would seem he knows his sh*t.

Man, small town pricing blows sometimes.

ight.. i did the safe thing..today i got 35 percent in the front and 20 in the back..it looks nice..but i see these little tiny bubbles..the guy said it was water and it would go away..? but other then that it looks nice

they usually have bubbles for the first few days and they should go away, at least everytime I've had anything tinted mine was that way too. If its not gone in about a week I'd go back. You'll be better with legal, it sucked always being on edge when I had the windows up

I got my 20% all around for $135 with lifetime warranty against everything including scratches, peeling, fading, cracking, etc. Winners tint in Rockville, MD does good work. Thats where I got mine. They has the laser cut tint and use high quality 3M tint. I dont exactly know how good 3M is in the tint industry, but they are a reputable name. Anyone hear of quantum tint? Or how about that Mercedez tint. Its like a sky blue sort of. I saw it on a black A8 one day, it was that blue tint, but with mirror in it. That was the best looking tint I have ever seen. I have no clue where to get it done though.

You did the right thing, stay legal, police don't like walking up on a vehicle not knowin if the person inside has a gun pointed at you, I live in South Carolina and the state limit is 35%, click my ride if you want to see it. The states are all different, but i can tell you from experience if you want it darker than the limit, you are going to get pulled because it is more of a threat than you think ( a safety issue)
Hope you like your tint...the bubbles will go away in a week or so, the tint is not all the way dry yet!
Also, the tint % will vary a bit from when a tint meter is placed on the window, so for example 30% tint will read about 32-33% which you wouldn't be fined for here. 20% or 5% limo fined and stripped off the windows sometimes right there!

I got 20% all over on NHB and got pulled over for it...Repair orders suck I need to got to the MVA and have it metered tommarow. I will probably end up with 35% up front and 20% in rear. 130 lifetime warrenty. Whatever you do - DO NOT USE AMONIA or get anything other then HIGH PERFORMANCE FILM on the tint. It will be purple in a year.
