personally, i didn't like the lighting from the halos.. but they look nice during the day if you're going for more of an agressive look..

Halos look cleaner. I don't like the amber in the tyc, although it's a higher quality part.

You'll regret buying them if you drive at night and don't have HIDs in the projectors. Light output on those (all except retrofitted) projectors are just horrid.

projectors suck, they are like tiny flashlights at night, have fun seeing, personally DIY your headlights or buy some.

Any bulb that's coated will give LESS light output than stock. Stick with the factory bulbs, or look at some that offer increased brightness. Or get HID.

I had the projectors w/ halos, they do look awesome, from the outside, but like infinite said, visability is horrable, i only had em in for 2-3months then i just couldnt stand em anymore.

I wonder if you can put some kind of foil or reflector behind the bulb to make more light shine through the projector?

I loved my TYC's to death, but the light output was horrible. Even if you were to change your bulbs, the projector itself is a foglight projector (this is what I've read), meaning it is supposed to be concentrated on the first 1 or 2 feet ahead of your car.

*no0b question and kind of confused*

isnt having blacked headlights the same as those black halo projectors? or is it that the halo's front lense has a dark coat over it as well as being blacked out?

Projectors have a lens only that projects light. Stock headlights use a reflector, and you're only blacking out the borders. A blacked out headlight will shine light exactly like a normal one. Projectors are just a different light design. Since they shine so horribly, most newer cars only use HID in them. However, beam pattern through a projector lens is much more focused.

It's gonna be alot for custom work, but this is really something you can diy if you take some time and do it slowly. Taking the lights out and heating in oven so they pull apart is easy. Then you just tape off the areas you don't want painted and spray some flat black on there. Let dry, and put it all back together. I never thought I could do it, either.

If you have a coupe it's easier (no need for oven). You just pry it apart.

Not sure. They go anywhere from $250 for cheap kits to $800 for better ones. A nice one will be around $450 or so. I paid $385 for my used Catz system, which is OEM in Japan. Just remember only a few sites sell them, since the sale is now illegal.

I think it's one of the best mods I've done. That's the only thing I got jealous of when a luxury car drove by. Now I got em too Install is mostly hiding the hardware and plugging stuff in. A wire diagram makes it easy, and you should be able to do it. A shop most likely won't do it for you--illegal. Just make sure that they're aimed low. People weren't aiming them, and so DOT banned their sale.

Now you may think I'm some sort of super car installer or something. Well I started out not knowing anything about this car. I learned alot and most things are easy if you just take the time and follow instructions. I've installed plugs, tranny cooler, hids, changed all the dash lights to blue, cleared headlights, sidemarkers, etc. I never thought I could do any of that at one point. There are things that I still don't mess with though.

hm wow. thats pretty interesting. about ur comments on "one of the best mods uve done" never heard that before. if shops wont do it n sell it cuz its illegal, does that mean once their on ur car, n cops pull u over n kno u got em.. they'll give u a fix-it ticket or something?

n yeah, say i get some hids. n some halos. that'll be fine right? good enuf eh?
