Trade In

Alright ladies and gents, Ive had my 03 EX vic for two years this november with only 16K miles on it. If you dont already know what i want ill tell you,
Type S.
I did the calculations and I think the payments would be about $160 a month for 4 years, Vic is paid off and i have some money to put down. However i wanted to get some input from you all to see how much my trade in value would be for my car, Kelley says its about $12,300. I know that would be great to get that but can I? I dont feel like going up to a dealer and messing with that hasstle if its not even in my range, because i know i could find out just by visiting. Anyway, just wanted to hear some input on what other people got for trade in. Thanks

I'm not too sure with trade-ins, but generally with private sales mods will sometime hurt the value of the car. People look at at cars and see Intake and other fancy things and they may think it was beaten on (even if only for 16,000). I beleive you definately could get that if you: 1. make it as stock as you can 2. walk in there and tell them what you want and if they say no, walk out and go somewhere else.

no in private sales mods won't hurt if you sell to people that like that type of thing, now with trade in thats what will hurt you. That $12k don't even think you can get anywhere near that trading in the vic even if you went back to stock. Going back to stock would get you more money, but still won't be anywhere near 12k.

Honestly, wait until the MY05s come out and buy an 04. They'll be blowing them out, trying to make room for the 05s. You should be able to save yourself a few bucks. I think that's what I'm going to do if I decide to get an Si. I've been watching my dealership for like the last 2 months, and I don't think they've sold a single Si. So, I'm going to wait until then end of the MY and then I'll consider getting one then.

You guys only have 2 sitting there? I think there are something like 8 sitting at one of the dealerships here. I think they've only moved since I decided to take one on a test drive. Other than that, I don't think they've sold one.

I'm really tempted to get one, only basically for the K. I love the looks of my 01 EX though, so it's kind of hard to part with it. That, and I've only got just over two years of car payments left. I don't want to pay on a car for another ~5+ years again.

Thanks guys, the only mod i have on the car is an AEM CAI which is simple to remove and i was planning on removing if needed. The insurance was another factor that i was scared about with buying this car but hopefully it wont rape me that bad. My buddy has an Si and it seriously is great, at my honda lot there are only like 2 i think and they sit there, Honda is havin trouble selling those cars.

But i seriously will probably wait till the 05's come out and see what i can do at that time, Hopefully i wont end up getting one and Acura change the body style for the better or bring the Type R over here, id be pissed then.

Thanks again

I traded my LX Vic for a RSX and only got $10K for the trade in... Kelly BB estimated $12K... Soooo, regardless you'll get screwed.... ANd I don't see how you will be paying $160 per month... Are you putting like $8k down or something??

I put $3k down for my RSX... Put it this way, I'm paying only $80 more for the RSX vs. when I had the Civic LX...

Regardless, you'll still get screwed... Just make sure you work your way up from Invoice Prices rather than working your way down from Manu. prices... It helped me out a lot...
