Stupid Orange Odometer

I am looking at getting some new guage faces, but I was thinking about what I am going to do about the odometer. I don't want nice blue and red guage faces and that stupid orange odometer.

Does anybody know how to chance the color to red or blue, or any other color? Or, is there a replacement piece that I can purchase for it?

I have seen that posting, but thanks for the link.

I dont think that he changed the color of the odometer, but everything else looks great.

Well changing it is tricky. The light has to be spread out or it will look uneven and weird. I couldn't do it right, so the easiest thing is just take out the bulb behind it. You can just twist it off from the back. Problem solved.

Fluorescent needles aren't a new thing and actually it's a very easy mod.

1) use isopropyl alcohol to strip orange paint off needles
2) paint needles with fluorescent (glow-in-dark) paint of choice
3) install uv neon inside bezel below needles so light shines up

It's unplugged. I don't want to mess with it and really it wouldn't flow with anything else.If you want try to clear the paint off the filter carefully with alcohol and put a blue led behind it. Maybe substitute paper for the filter, and maybe run some EL wire through the back to see if it does anything. Obviously, you'll have to take the cluster all apart and bend up the lcd without breaking it. I would not recommend doing this if you've never done it. You could try to just unscrew the bulb from the back of the odo without ripping apart anything and see how it looks with a light shining through. Again, you're just gonna have to try things because I haven't experimented.

i like the guages the way they are in the 04 coupes. it is cool though that they offer different solutions for the older civic gauges.

I think i found a solution, i was just in my friends 2004 dx sedan and she has all light blue dash including odo, so all i have to do is make sure that it is compatible, and find one.

AlienX will become famous soon enough
if you really want to change it to a diffrent colour, you need to desolder the odo and clear the amber/orange paint for starters, then just install some LEDs behind there...
