Had a problem last night with the Civic
So my friend and i decide to fix a problem with my civic, so we just need the car raised like 5 or so inches, so we use the jack that came with the car. Then we get the car jacked up and before we reached the height i needed (which wasnt high at all) the jack breaks on us! My car somehow falls to the right like 2 feet, slams to the ground my hand is almost crushed, my friend is almost crushed, the jack gets wedged up into the side skirt, dents it, scratches it and we are sitting there like what the heck just happened. We were on a flat surface and whatnot it sucked so bad my car got a messed up. The jacks teeth and all bend and whatnot now, and it was the first time using that jack. It so dumb, but anyway im calling honda of america today and see if they will replace my side skirt and whatnot. So i dunno just venting.

They will probably tell you, you should have taken it to a certified technician (sp? - that doesn't look right to me)..
You are most likely assed-out.

well you can talk to them to replace it for being a inferior product and have them replace it or, if nothing happens you can sue them for lots of money because of their jack that almost cut off u and ur friends hand

i always use my hydraulic jack(i think thats what it is? you push the lever up and down to raise the jack) when i rotate my wheels and such. the honda one is so damn small and so hard to use that it is not even worth it.

You don't even need a 5 ton. I've got 2.5 ton that lifts up the car without a problem. That OEM jack is AWFUL, and with something like a jack there's way too much room for user error. You're screwed as far as dealing with AHM is concerned.

Yeah I took my car to Honda Yesterday there having the general manager and some one from the service area look at it, they saw the jack and were it was broken, the guy even said it was the jack that malfunctioned. So i gotta take it back and they gotta evaluate it and then i find out if they will cover it. American Honda said call them back if my local dealer cant help me. But the jack is all messed up.

That's messed up. I always have to use my OEM jack to get under my car to get it high enough to put the 2.5 ton flow jack under there. Tough luck man.
