Hey guys well the time has come, and it's a lot sooner than I thought...well here's the dealio, I found a 03 Civic Si for 14K with 21000 miles on it...I test drive it and it was in excellent condition, fast as hell once Vtec kicked in at 4K rpms. Only gripe, the idiot traded it in replaced the stock exhuast with some kind of aftermarket exhaust and seems like he hand painted that thing red and the paint was running off the exhaust from the heat I suppose. Anyway, i was wondering if u think the dealer will budge for 12K b/c I found another from a private seller that's selling his 02 with 9K mile in perfect condition for $11500. If I show the dealer that slip, do u guys think they'll budge and give me around 12500 or 12000 for the car?

Oh and no I can't buy it from the private seller cause I am trading in my vic...also how much for me to replace the exhaust back to stock? I love the dual pipes they had on there

ok my bro says that we're gonna look at the 11500 dollar silver Si, but thing is I hate the damn silver...I want the black one! It cost more and I'll have to trade my car in for it, but I still want the black one. He says he's going to pay for the silver one and let me drive it once a week, I told him no b/c if I wanted that I would just told him to buy it in the first place...I want the car all the time, I want to make it faster faster faster...so I told him I'll take over the payments on the Si and he can take over the vic and I'll let him drive my Si couple times a week lol

Stay away from modded civics. The previous driver probably drove it hard all the time.

yeah my brother bought a hatch and it had just about as much as mods as possible
but the previous owner dogged to much so didnt last long before he started having problems

good deal, well the Si is a no go, talked with my rents and they got pissed at why I would want to trade in my vic (which is automatic...hint hint) so now I said *** it...then suddenly they tell me that if I want a new car, might as well get the best one so I can't hate it in the long run so they said they were gonna get me an S2000, which I doubt will happen anyway.

You can get the new SIs cheap now. Hell I had a 02 SI that I bought new for $15,700. just keep looking. Oh and the IVTEC on the K20A3 is not that impressive. It just the DOHC that you are noticing.

well I don't have a choice now so I'll have to wait, my mom told me to wait til September to get a new car so I'll think about that for now...til I get my new job, then I'm going to buy myself a car, prolly not an Si but definitely something powerful and reliable.

Well good luck with whatever you get. If you do get used, beware of cars that were modded. I would alwyas buy a stock used car....if I was you.
