Angry Theives ruin all that is good....

Ok here is the low down. I am extremely pissed off right now. I woke up this morning to the sound of my mother yelling that my car had been broken into overnight. I paused for a second and realized I had about $1000 in engine management in there. I rushed out of bed and all the way to the car I hoped they just took the $120 i had in my glove box. But no...they took EVERYTHING. Here is the list...

Greddy Profec E-01with external signal harness
Greddy E-manage with ignition and injection harness
Greddy EGT gauge but not the datalink unit
Greddy boost gauge and again didn't take the datalink unit.
Took a 1st gen VAFC out of my glove compartment.
3 spools of MIG wire
About $150 worth of 2.75 inch mandrel bends

My insurance deductable is $1000, so basicly I have to replace all this stuff out of my own pocket. I'm throwing in the towel on my turbo civic project. I nailed down a half-tune and it was running great at 7.5-8psi. I no longer have the will to put anymore time or money into this car. But if you guys happen to see an emanage out there with a turbo civic map, give me a shout. The people who took it were definately car people, they didn't just rip stuff out. Every wire was carefully disconnected from the bullet connectors. I pretty much lost 3 months of damned hard work, and alot of money.

edit: they broke my window with a denso iridium spark plug, so i'm one up on those now.

No matter what your answer to my question is I can tell you that I feel bad for ya mang.

But I gotta ask. It sounds like the stuff was laying in your trunk or something (not installed).

Is this true?

If so....

Why?

Everything was installed. Profec E-01 was stuck down well with double sided tape and screwed into the dash. The emanage was also stuck down well inside the glove box. How could I tune my car if the stuff wasn't installed? Of course the MIG wire and bends were just laying in the back seat, and the VAFC wasn't being used it was for a friends HF turbo civic. Blah I hate theives!!

I've told the story here before but here's a quick overview...

Two punks bust in my car....
Two punks get away...
Two punks live in my building...
Two punks break in other cars next night...
Two punks get caught by me and friend...
Two punks eat glass from own car doors...
Two punks get arrested...
Two punks get what they deserved.

Sounds like they knew what you had and where to find it. Check out all of your "friends" and make sure they aren't boosting or are about a grand richer.

agree...........and could be someone you know or who has seen your vehicle because they
would have a better idea of where everything is.

very likely. The fact that my window was broken using a denso iridium ik20 spark plug leads me to believe it was someone who was around FI cars. I'm going into sherlock mode, I really want to find out who did this. I picked up a black and white wireless video camera from radioshack and mounted where the car is parked. I want to everyone who even takes a second look at my car.

I hate thieves so much. Sorry for what happened. Just give it some time and I'm sure they'll get caught. They think they're good, so they'll keep trying to steal other people's stuff. Camera is a great idea. Too bad you didn't have it before.

Yeah, its most likely. It might even be someone you least expect it. Do you park your car out in the street?

sorry to hear that bud, I keep hearing of this happening to people on this website, I might invest in a alarm with a back up battery myself, that sounds like the best thing to do.

My car is literally parked next to my bedroom. I mean the thief could watch TV through my window while he was stealing my ****. On a side note, an iridium spark plug is just a very good plug. Iridium has very good conductive qualities. Ik20's are colder then stock which makes them good for running FI applications.

Most signs point to an inside job. Either a shop you went to or people you knew. Even a pro thief and mechanic would not know exactly what you have. You can never have too much security. Tie down the hood if you have to.

Definitely someone who knows what there doing since they didn't just rip the wires and disassembled everything. Good thing neighbours are useful :@. Must have taken them at least 30 mins to unwire everything. I feel really bad for you dude. I would check out local shops or forums to see if anyone is selling used stuff .
