SORRY guys...got a new car...
Well I got the mazdaspeed protege. Except I still have the civic. I was able to finance it at 0%, so I couldn't resist, plus they gave me a good price. 17000 for it all in all. I love the car and how it feels, so I can't complain. Was poking around the mazda forums and some people are making some nice gains with new internals and boost control. Thanks. I'll still be around to antagonize all of you guys haha, but I won't be concentrating on the vic anymore...If you guys are wondering about the car, just do a search, there's alot of topics on it from before. I was seriously considering a WRX, but they're too pricey out here, and nobody will budge on their pricing...even used ones. Plus I've been reading alot and yes the WRX is a good performer, but in many ways, the MSP will out handle it, which is what I like...autocross fan here...

Well it's limited production, so unless mazda decides to make more of them you won't be seeing more of them. There's a few different companies I've been reading up on who have been doing turbo upgrades and the like...check out www.msprotege.com they got some good info there.

MSP rocks. congratulations on your purchase. I didn't know they could be had for 17 US, what a bargain. I will have to consider it for my next car. How tough was it to find since it's limited production?

Well, I found it by accident really. Me being the dreamer that I am, went to Mazda to test drive an RX-8 haha my family needed a four door car, so I thought it would work. Wrong, the backseats are too small. Anyways, after deciding the RX-8 wasn't for me, I was telling the salesman thanks, I'm gonna get a WRX, he suggested it to me. I loved it after I drove it. Slalom speeds on par with supercars (according to Roand and Track). The thing is a cornering machine. So, I got it from 21 down to 17, and it was mine. I got it in titanium grey. My only problem with it is, that it's much more difficult to drive than a civic, but manageable. The numbers (like people say) seem low, but you feel it throughout the powerband, and the turbo really kicks your *** after 3500 RPM. It takes skill to drive it like a champ, but your gramma could probably still drive it if she can handle a stick. All in all I'm very happy with it.
BTW I tested a Mazda 6 also, very nice for what you pay, but needs more kick. Especially out of a V6 manual, I think it's gearing needs adjusting. Not as quick as the Mazdaspeed...
