Rep Power: 0 gettin a s2000 in couple months, couple questions UPDATED
k, heres the numbers....i gonna put down about 13k, thats with the trade in of the vic. im gonna be looking at 3bills a month for the sti, s2k and the evo. thats ok but the insurance willl kill me, wont have any $$ for mods....so rite now im leaning on the rsx type s....bout 230 a month and insurance should be cheaper...
watup guys, after 3 years im ready to get a faster car...first i had my eyes on the evo but after i saw the insurance qoutes...it was outrageous!!! so i had to choose something else, i was lookin at the rsx type s or the wrx(non sti), they're nice and the price is around 25k. sumhow i landed on the s2000 cause its very sport lookin, lots of power under that hood and its a chick magnet imp: im prolly gonna get either an 01 or 02 s2000, its gonna be 28-29k. i'll strip my car, sell the aftermarket parts(about $2000), then trade in my vic for it. heres couple questions....
1. anyone know how much insurance would be(rough estimate), im 20(couple speedin tickets, no accident)
2. any difference between 01 and 03 or 04?
oh by the way, im prolly gonna pick up the car early next year. its gonna be dark silver with the hard top, ill take it off next summer.

Rep Power: 340 Insurance - sky high. I'd say wait until 25 if you don't wanna go broke on that.
The differences are subtle - I think the rims are different, the guages, and the head/tail lights are slightly different. Nothing too drastic except the upped engine size and lower redline.

Rep Power: 400 The gauges were always digital.
The 04's have a 2.2 L engine with more torque, but the same HP and a little softer suspension (it's totally re-tuned, but apparently the dynamics of it should keep the handling just as sharp as before)
The 00-03s made it pretty much un-changed. Maybe a color difference or something. I've honestly never heard a bad thing about an S2K.

Rep Power: 0 I did an insurance quote for myself on an S2000 I am 21 and single. My price per year $7,600 (clean record), I think I will have to wait a few years. I pay $2,900 a year for my RSX Type S now. It will probably differ from area to area.

they have the the glass back in the convertable top. you know what im talking about? when you have your top up. the back window. the 01 and 02 had plastic but they changed it to glass in 03. easier to clean and doesnt turn all gross after a couple of years

Rep Power: 340 Think of the demographic for cheap 2dr cars that everyone hops up.
Now think about the demographic for 4dr family sedans.
That's what the insurance company thinks, too.

Rep Power: 282 I'd lean even harder toward the Type-S, my man. . .
You'll get ***-raped by insurance on the S2k, EVO, and even the WRX will be more because of the turbocharger. The Type-S has PLENTY of power for most of us, and the 6-speed gearbox means you'll have plenty of fun shifting through the gates. There are mods galore that won't break the bank, and NICELY-modded Type-S's aren't as common around Seattle as you might think. That and you can join John's RSX site, locally.
At any rate. . . . please don't pay more a month for insurance than you do for the car. . . . waste of money until you're 25 and your rates go down. Oh, and stop speeding, too.

Rep Power: 0 ^ lol good tip art, kinda jealous u gettin the sti and im gettin the rsx though...shiet. first mod im gettin for the rsx is the big nitrous sticker and go race ur sti.
but seriously, i do see alot of rsx in seattle bro, thats one of the reason keepin me from gettin it
yea i guess ur rite, im only 20 and its kinda weird driving a sti/evo/s2k, pep might think im borned with a golden key or something. and define wat u mean by a nice rsx. wat im thinkin after i get the rsx, first thing is the turbo, and more engine mods then work on the exterior
