Help me out guys

Hey everyone I need some help. My buddy sold his Nissian Spec V yesterday for a truck. (He needs the truck for his business.) He sold the car to one of our buddies dad car lot. Now my question is his dad said he would give me the Spec V for 12,500 since he knows me and they are going to give me 10600 for my civic. I don't owe that much left on my car so my payments wouldn't go up that much from 229 a month. My question is should I just take the money I have been saving up for an engine swap, put it down and get the Spec V (it's 02 with 20,000)or just keep my honda? My buddy who owned the car never had a bit of problem out of it. He liked the car, he just needed a truck for his business. Have you heard good or bad out of these car?? thanks

from what i've seen 02 spec v's have had a ton of problems, unlike the 03, which is excellent.

I haven't heard a whole lot about the Spec-Vs, but what I have heard has all been along the lines of what dragoon said. But then again, everyone says Jetta's have problems out the ****, and we've never had one.

Yeah I was thinking about the swap too, so i can start with something with a little better engine, and work my way up. I still can't decide if I want that 02 or just keep my vic.

It's better to build your own car to your own specs and liking. I say keep the Civic and don't sell out on the 7thgen. We are the future of Honda hybrids (K20 powered Civics) and Honda tuning (K20 motors).
