Body Kit Disaster

So I go down to the shop that is putting my R34 kit on, and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had all been painted and installed, minus the front bumper. Closer examination led to deep regret adn frustration. Theres frikin gaps EVERYWHERE and my side skirt (oonly one) sticks out like 3 inches too far! WTH?? So i ask the guy how long he spent on the skirts? 8 hours??!! at 50 bucks canadian an hour thats 400 bucks! WOW! Seriously, the paint job was free so the 400 goes solely to labour of two things! I'm realy regrettin the kit, shoulda gone OEM way less hassles and apparently a lot less money, i dont even wanna know what the final cost is gonna be, just had to vent, thx

I hear you on that... The kami sides are always coming loose at the top and not staying on very securely.

My urathane kit fits like ****... because when the weather heats up the kit will start to take a new shape and doesn't like to fit anymore. I am dissappointed with the Urathane kits it made my upper grill sag alot too it sucked so that is why im going back to stock bumpers and keeping the kit for shows...

Yeah- I went urethane too. My shop fitted my kit like **** tho and painted it like **** so i gotta have it all redone.

The shop I am taking it to is not a huge fan of urethane tho...They keep asking me why urethane, you shoulda got fiberglass, etc. Im like WTF, urethane is the only way to go and they give me this list of why Fiberglass is better but i dont think so.

Pros of Urethane:
Take more abuse
flexible

Cons of Urethane:
Heavy as SH*T
Warps in the summer months
requires a flex additive to paint other wise it will crack

Pros of Spray gun Fiberglass:
Much more wild kits available
Lightweight
Easily repairable upon minor fender benders

Cons of Spray gun Fiberglass:
Crack easily
Chip easily if not primed correctly
Requires a lot preparation (waves, pits)

Pros of Hand-laid Fiberglass (JDM companies):
Lightweight
Strong
Easily repairable
More aggressive/conservative kits available
Takes abuse
Semi-flexible

Cons of Hand-laid Fiberglass:
$$$
