Just installed the CATZ HID High/Low Kit!
I don't like it, especially how it's shining way too high.
Good thing they're going to be banned, for companies to simply sell the light without the whole housing is dangerous and irresponsible.
It doesn't matter if they "look" okay, It has to have it's own housing for the light to shine correctly. The parabolic arc is different for HID's, a stock halogen reflector doesn't work. They are out of whack. That bat looking pattern makes it pretty obvious. Just because you think they look great doesn't make the lighting safe or acceptable.

I dont give a fu(k if they are out of whack because they dont have the right housing. I love them and I like the way they look. If they look too high it just needs to be aimed down. Thats what I did and it looks even better. A lot of my friends that have a HID say mine look really good being an aftermarket HID kit. Like I said I dont give a fu(k if other people dont like it cus I didnt buy them to impress other people I bought it cus I like how they look not if others like it. I have to say it again I Love my Catz hid kit.

There are large numbers of SUV's out there that have headlights mounted so that they shine directly through the rear window of my car at stock ride height. These days, many SUV's have HIDs as well, completely blinding me at times. Although I understand that these are two differnt scenarios and concerns about how the light is causing problems to other motorists, I find it unacceptable that a brand new $40,000 suv can be designed within the law to completely blind me while at a stoplight. I respect the fact that HIDs should be sold with proper housings, but if they are going to put more regulations on HIDs, I would expect them to protect the rights of all motorists, not simply the rights of those with enough money to buy motorist blinding headlights from the factory. If I can purchase HIDs to help my visibility in front of me, then I shall, because nobody is working to protect my visibility behind me.

Oh and when I pull up to a G35 of Lexus IS. Color/output/beam pattern (more so the first two) are absolutely IDENTICAL. BTW, I'm using Philips 4,300 K. Yes, there is a SLIGHT blindspot right in the middle of the beam pattern, but its barely noticable. The light just attacks the road. Will never go back to halogen (unless of course, I get a fix-it ticket)
