no more mods

what's up everyone? Well this is it, my friend just bought a 1999 BMW M3, and it's convinced me that I'm gonna save my $, stop modding my civic and start saving for a car which I don't have to dump mad money into to be nice. I'm not as stupid as my friend, he dropped 19 g's on the damn thing w/ 93,000 on it. I wouldn't do that, but MANY of us could be driving a RSX type S or equivalent price range if we didn't dump soooo much on mods. I've got abou t 2,700 additional into my car, and if I had that right now, I'd be that much closer to my next car. The mods are awesome, I love it because they're almost all DIY, and it's an awesome hobby, but it's no comparision to a sweet ride w/ some nice wheels and tint - THAT"S IT.

Anyways, still love my civic and my mods, luckily i've got some of OEM mods, such as OEM kit & OEM fogs which should help the resale of the civic in a few years......well, my .02 cents

I agree with you on that. I have taken all my mods of my car and sold them off to the highest bidder, ended up getting more back than what I have paid for them. I figure that within this year I'll have saved up enough money to go and get my Audi S4. Found a few in the area for sale and I know a few dealerships carry them around here all the time. Gonna get that thing to pimp it out.

I had planned on putting heated leather seats and also a drop, glad I didn't, pretty much everything I have done has increased the current value of the car -

how do you guys feel about this?

i mod my car because i enjoy it. i don't particularly care to roll around in a stock car even if it's better than my civic.

My friend did the same thing... well, he didn't sell his mods, he just stopped modding and is saving his cash for an E46 M3.

it's true, as another thread stated recently was "big pimping is better than modding, and it made me think"

I should start doing that too. If not the M3, then I can settle for a 330ci.

Someday I'll be rollin' in a BMW 325i .. Yum

But for now I have more fun doing stuff to the civic. Because NOBODY else has a car like I do. I like being unique, even if I am in fúckin Montana where nobody appreciates it.

people mod because they want to make their car original and they dont' have the cash to be spending modding a high price car. High dollar cars means mods get more expensive. I don't have an awesome income and don't want to be spending all my money trying to fix up a expensive car. Even if you don't fix up the expensive car. Everything on from maintance to insurance costs more. just my .02

Yeah modding can be fun, and give a person some experience. However, modding the Civic for speed will be hefty. I also a little while ago not to mod up the Civic and wait for my hopefully next car: WRX

any car that I buy that is under $100,000 I will probably mod to some degree. So it doesn't matter if it's an M3 or a Civic, it's going to get modded.

No matter how fast or awesome your car is, you'll get bored of it after 6 months and you'll want better/faster/more for your car.

That's a fact.

that's true, you'll always want to mod something, but as far as the civic goes, you're not gonna do much for horsepower, you'd have to either put turbo or swap to make it decent, and that alone is thousands, nevermind anything else. Get a phat ride, spend a few g's on rims, tint and In Car Entertainment, and you're done, more than likely it'l be much faster than the vic too.....and there's always the "cheaper" mods like shaving, etc.
