Ecu fried, now how to prevent new one from doing the same

My ecu fried last weekend, rpm guage went dead, temp went dead, cel is on, green key light is constantly flashing and runs rough doesn’t rev up past 2K if I were to guess, and no communication from code reader to computer. Limped it home (was half hour away) and just got a replacement today. I plan on taking it to dealership tomorrow to get keys reprogrammed...looking on info on how to make sure this won’t happen again. I’ve already ran 2 new ground cables one more directly from battery to frame and one from battery to block. Any help is appreciated, car is 01 civic si manual.

My suggestion would be to completely remove the alternator.

Using degreaser and wire brush and then Emory cloth or scotchbrite clean the physical mounting points on the alternator, bolts, and engine until you see shiny metal.

Be sure to properly torque the mounting bolts when you reinstall.

If your really concerned, install a separate ground strap using large band clamp ?

have you searched around? Loose alternator bolts is the most common causes of ECU fried (most likely the only one)
