I'm using the pro-kit. its an okay spring. not much of a drop and ride quality is close to stock but it seems a little bouncier. also they are kinda expensive??.. and because of the nasty road conditions in NE, two of my shocks are leaking.. but it doesn't really matter anymore cause my Tein SS arrived yesterday.

Sounds like you are on stock shocks. That is why you had a bouncy ride and why they leaked. If you get the pro-kit get the Koni's too!

yeah i don't trust the koni's, from what people have been saying about rear perch's breaking.. and the installation of the front's, just sounds like a pain in the arss, that i don't want to deal with. so i went all out and got the Tein SS..

i have a prokit on my car. Its decent but i generally like a lower drop. It gives you a little bit better gap and handles better also.

The pro-kit are alrite, gives you a slight drop and handles better. The ride will be more bouncy if you use it with the stock shocks. Overall its ok. If you want a lower drop, i think you should opt for the sportline..though its a little bit stiffer then the pro-kit. Thats if you only want to use eibach springs.

Hey brothersound, hows the ride with your new tein ss compare to your ex-setup (pro-kit with stock shocks)?? Ive ask in other post before whether the tein ss is gd...and i have made up my mind to get it. Just want to know what kind of ride i be expecting, as im also using pro-kit with stock shocks and plan to get the teins soon.

I installed Eibach/Koni sport over the Tein>>

Why you ask?????

I wanted the best handling with a smooth ride.. (Different strokes for different folks)
I didnt like that every time you change the ride height you would have to get you alignment done!!!!

I installed The E/K myself it took 2hrs It was pretty easy as long as you have the tools....

Ill post a picture soon with Oem on a 2002 Civic 4Dr with E/K Suspension

Ic..heheee. Alrite then, let us know hows the tein ride over your current setup when you are done installing & tested it

Tdog, did you have any prob running your car with konis?? Ive heard sooo many bad things about it (on 7th gen cars only anyway). And the way the front shocks have to be hack to fit in the konis doesnt sound assuring.

skivic.... I had no problems at all to be honest.
Ya hacking the front strut does seem to bring a question,
let me run through real quick the procedure......

You take the Oem strut drill a hole on bottom (it gets a little messy)
bore out the hole so when you put the Koni in it will bolt to the strut housing.. Now you cut the top of the strut to take out the shocks piston. Bore out the openning a little, smooth it out and then just slide the Koni shock right in.. Its a good fit, no play inside, (thats good). Put everything back together just the way it came apart and install, thats really all on the fronts.....

And the back are CAKE....

Ic, you had no prob running with the konis huh. Read fr other post, that the front shocks make a lot of noise and something about the rear rings snappin/crack. Thats why i was wary of fitting in the yellow konis, and now have opted to go with teins coilover. And the part where we have to put in the konis inside the stock shocks (front)...spells 'potential problemo'. How long have you been using it??

On my car the only noices I hear is from turning the wheel all the way left, but I havent had the chance to get it aligned... I installed the E/K bout 2 monmths ago.. What I heard is you will have noicez in the begining, but az soon as their worn in, its quiet..

With the rear ring snappin' I believe that person has coilovers or has it lower than 1.5"..... With the set up I have Im not worried bout that.

Ic...just 2months huh..hmm. Well, if any problem arises on your current setup, let us know , for the time being...i think i will stick to tein ss as my 1st choice, followed by koni-eibach. Still have to save up some $$ 1st though

well my friend & I finished Installing My Tein SS over the weekend. the install went pretty smoothly. we took our time though, we greased up every single bolt and a lot of the suspension parts and the camber kit. it was a pretty straight forward install. I made it a little easier for myself by buying the 2001 upper mounts and bearing rings, that made the front a complete swap. taking apart the rears to get the parts was very easy as long as you follow the diagram.

the overall ride quality over my (stock strut/pro-kit) setup, is better at the standard setting of 6 clicks back, and it gets smoother as you go more clicks back. Handling is much much better. it feels as though there's virtually no front & rear body roll. side to side is much improved also. right now i have the height set at exactly two finger gap, which is where i like it.

also, my stock driver side rear shock was blown and I've only had my pro-kit on for 9 months the others seemed okay.

also, Tein gives you way to many stickers with their coilovers I have no idea what I'm gonna do with all of them.

Wow..that sounds very nice. 6clicks back and it rides better huh...fr what you have said, it seems handling performance all round have been improve. Yeh, thats the problem of having stock shocks with a shorter springs...tends to blow the shocks faster. I reckon mine will be on its way soon...to getting blown. I guess, i would definetly get the tein ss once i get the cash. And from what you have describe, i have lots of room to get a smoother ride..by turning back more clicks, incase i find it too harsh/hard for my liking That was my main concern of getting a coilovers...too hard for road usage. Oh, and its gd tein gave a bundle of stickers..the logos kinda cute...hahahaaa.

Thx bro for your 'review' on the teins...
