Question Suspension?

I have a question about the suspension...

I know a lot of people lower their cars because it look cool, but what I wanted to know is if you lower your car is there a chance at increasing your launch times? Does lowering your car serve an actual purpose? I know it does but can someone clarify it for me.

Lowering the car lowers the center of gravity of the car, which in turn lowers the ammount of weight transfered, thus giving you better traction through the corners. There is however a point where Low is to Low, when the suspension is so low that it no longer has the range of motion for it to work properly (This is an issue with Production race cars Vs. Purupous Built race cars) Lowering in its self only has limited advantages, the real advantage is in the increaced spring rate of the performance spings (To help adjust Roll Couple Distrobution).

ya lowering a car is mainly for handling purposes and not for [engine] performance...

lowering the car gives better arrow dynamics and there isnt as much lean when you launch because of the stiffer springs so there is more traction on the front wheels. do these make a difference? not really.. atleast not on 110hp cars.

"arrow dynamics" huh? LOL It's aerodynamics. Stiffer spring rates up front and in the back will help slightly with launching though. You'll have a little less wheel hop it the springs were the ones causing it. Most likely you'll need to stiffen up the front end a little with all sorts of bars to eliminate wheel hop even more though. Wheel hop prevents hook up when launching at high rpm's. Anyway, with our cars launching isn't too too important. Get stickier tires before worrying about wheel hop.

Just put stiff springs on the back for weight tansfer and a fat girl in the front seat to hold down the front.

Oops! Just remember that a typo is different than a mis-spelling.
