How low should I go?
OK I am finally moving which means goodbye to my steep drive way. Now I am confused on how low to drop my car. I am debating btween 1" and 2", but I have to take into account that Chicago streets still suck big time and our winters are even worse. Right now my car is on 205/55/16's so I am actually thinking of going down 1.5". I would appreciate input from everyone if possible.

well if you get coilovers you can adjust the height. Tein SS are the ones of choice and they don't go much lower than 2" anyway. They run about $1k shipped. I suggest H&R's spring or neuspeed sport. H&Rs are only about a 1.3" drop (probably a little more after settling) and neuspeeds are a little lower, 1.75 front and 1.5 rear. Eibach sportlines are good too but expensive.

save up for tein ss. you really need to adjust height in chicago during winter. i had same problems. i live in wisconsin. snowing sucks during summer... cant drive lowered car. tein ss is great, looks, rides nice.very nice quality
I slammed my car and now I cant raise it up because the threads on the sleeves of my coilovers somehow wore off! It sucks because my shocks are blown so I bottom out everywhere and my camber is whack! I wouldn't go too low untill you get shocks and a camber kit too!
I lowered mine with Goldlines 1.75" drop and i love the ride height except for the shitty streets of Lexington, I have to be really carefull no matter where im driving though. If you dont care to spend the money get a full suspension setup with shocks and adjustable springs, it will save you money in the long run. If not get some eibach's if your wanting the best ride quality for the rough streets and snow.

no one will notice you are lowered with a prokit. The good thing is that you will probably not need a camber kit or new shocks.
