either way, here's a list from the majestic honda site, that you'll need in order to NOT take apart your stock struts:

Rep Power: 0 You are probably right about the *s....I was doing it off the top of my head. Honestly, just use the pieces you have and order 2 part 9s. My local honda dealer didnt have any in stock so I wont be getting mine until the middle of the week...so we'll have to wait until next weekend.

Rep Power: 278 I just got my Teins installed and I didnt read this till today. I have a 02 and we got the bearing to fit with the tein ss. It seems to not make any noise right now. Does anyone know if it makes noise right away or is it something that occurs over time, because I am hoping we did it right and not wrong because Im too lazy to take it apart againl. From the way we did it, it fit pretty snug together.

Rep Power: 294 hmm.. next person to install teins, take pics of the spring perch they provide you with. maybe theirs is designed in a way to fit both model years? either way, using it with the 2002+ bearing ring won't produce any weird noise I don't think. the only thin that worries me is what I mentioned in the first post I made with the pictures.. the fact that the weight isn't being put on the whole bearing ring could cause damage over time. I am still waiting for someone to post saying they have contacted TEIN regarding this issue, if there is one.

Rep Power: 291 still waiting? hrm...can you email them, or can someone else email them?
I've been harrassing them about rust issues, so I don't think they'll answer any more of my questions
No joke, they flat out told me to just put the stock struts back in for the winter...they guaranteed me that they will rust in the great white north

Rep Power: 287 i email tein and this is what they said :
We recently received information that there is a fitment issue with the
BASIC kit for 01+ Civic on the 2002 and 2003 Civic. The simple fix would be
to purchase the 2001 Civic bearing, part number 51726-S5A-004. You would
need to purchase 2 of these, one for the Front Right and the other for the
Front Left. Just use the 2001 Civic Bearing instead of the 02+ bearing, and
install according to the instruction manual.
Please bear with us as it is difficult for us to foresee and monitor
suspension changes in vehicles in which the styling has not changed. i.e.
2001, 2002, and 2003 Civic has not changed in body style.
