Front strut tower bar?
Anybody with a front strut tower bar have anything to say about this mod? Does it make a noticable difference? I'm itching to mod my car, yet at the same time my wallet's not that fat.
Just wanted to know if it's worth it before i spend 100+ on a strut bar.

What do you want out of your car? lowering springs with high spring rates will make the most difference. Then sway bars. Strut bars are a good way to start your suspension mods and though you wont see a major difference, they will help your turning. If you get a front strut bar, neuspeed, mugen, and spoon all have great bars. The mugen and spoon might need some modifying and they many not clear CAI. The neuspeed front bar is the bar of choice around here. Don't get DC sports!

IMO it's a worthy mod. You can feel it when turning. Your turning response improves. So... Turn the wheel and the car starts turning immediately. Before there was a sort of delay. That delay is chassis flex.
I think one piece bars that span the strut towers straight across are the best. Right now there's only the Mugen strut bar for the RSX. It's made out of one piece of stainless steel and it spans the strut towers straight across. It's also really expensive. LOL
The next choice I think is Cusco strut bars for the RSX. Three piece design, but the bolts and the brackets are top notch. 1/4" thick and the design not only mounts to the strut towers, but also to the chassis. Front AND back. You'll need to do some modification to make them fit though. There's a DIY floating around for the rear one, but the front one is more difficult to implement.
My choice was the Spoon Sports strut bars for the RSX. I have both the front and rear. The bar itself is made out of aluminum, so it's very light. The end brackets that mount to the strut towers are made out of steel and again are 1/4" thick. Very sturdy! The only thing that sucked was that the hole in the brackets was 12mm in diameter and the bolt was 10mm in diameter. Stupid design IMO because it relies on the torque of the bolts for the stiffness of the bar. I fixed this problem by adding larger hardware. I made a DIY on this topic too...
I heard from someone who had the DC Sports and the Neuspeed and they liked the DC Sports better. In my own personal experience I felt a very nice difference in turning with the DC Sports, so I liked it. It's not only for looks IMO. It is more expensive than the Neuspeed one though. They both clear all sorts of intakes, so one or the other is a good choice if you have an intake.
There's a couple more choices out there. APR makes a nice front one, but the center bar looks dinky. Tenzo R makes a pretty good set, but if it were a little cheaper more people would buy it.
The crappy Ebay bars are no good IMO. They improve the feel a little bit, but not as much as other bars. Buy them if you're short on cash or if you just need a sllight improvement and not as much harshness from the stiffer chassis.
