hi guys im looking to buy a itr within the summer i think.
anyways i found this sick *** one i posted about it here. http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...threadid=89377
no one can answer this question. so i decided to post here.

well everything is perfect on the car except the suspension.
the owner he dipped his suspension in acid to remove tar and make it smooth so he can chrome it. i know nascar cars used to acid dip their cars to make it lighter and stuff. until they banned it. they said that dale earnheart (sp?) died because of it.
anyways
the thing is that im thinking that the suspension losts its structurial integrity because of the acid. im going to be using this as a daily driver and will be driving at 30 miles a day on it. i dont really care if the chrome falls off.
anyone know about this kinda of stuff or even heard of it?!

The only reason I can see to "acid dip" anything would be to remove any contaminates in preperation for painting or chroming like you said. It should only remove the oxidation and restore the metal to its original state, I don't think it would weaken it unless the acid some how was strong enough to "eat" through the metal.
