Lowering car ?

I want to lower my civic about 3" and im using coilovers. However I wasnt sure if I need to buy new struts as well or if the stock shocks I have now will be ok. My car is new so my original shocks are in good condition. Any help will be appreciated. thanx

ur shocks wont last with that much of a drop. also, your chamber will be off, so you'll need to get a chamber kit as well.

If you're going to lower your car 3" do it properly and get aftermarket struts and probably a camber kit if u got big rims. Coilovers = spring+ shocks so you'll be taking our u're stock shocks anyways. 3" is low man.

3" buy new struts.. no point in using stocks as they'll blow pretty fast. only ones out now are koni yellow inserts which run $550. also get a rear camber kit. your tires are going to tuck so you should also roll your fenders and keep a negative camber. the front, you might have trouble getting it down to 3" so you might have to take out the fender well. not sure how safe it is on the engine. should look nice tho

also read for weapon's response

whussup, your from chatsworth? visit the SoCal section. add yourself to the socal member list.. there's a meet coming up on march 29th in cerritos, hope you can make it
its camber not chamber.. basically when you lower the car your camber becomes negative.. when your camber is negative, the inside of your tires wear out faster then the outside thus making you replace your tires faster... you cant adjust the camber with stock parts so you get a camber kit so that you can.. camber is part of alignment.. its how much your tires tilt in.. for example, say your looking at the car from the back.. negative camber would look like this.. / <--left tire... \ <--right tire. the top of the tires lean toward the center of the car..
