Ground Control
Ok this is pissing me off, the place where I get my ground control installed supposedly did them correctly and they were bouncy in the front soo much my car was practicaly hopping, and they were dropped basically all the way, is there any other things you have to do so the car doesnt bottom out like what do you have to do exactly direction would be nice, that way I can explain to them, I know for sure that the back is fine and the front they did not cut the perches off. Next I would like to know anything else you have to do to install them like cut the bumpstops, or something how much and stuff like that pics would be nice of how yours looks thanks. especially pics of bumpstops I think thats the problem cuz only the front bounces when its dropped and the front is raised 1.5" higher than the back and it looks fugly. Your help is appreciated thanks.
oh btw I am running on stock shocks.

I don't think they cut the bumpstops but I dunno what they are soo.. they are not blown they don't bounce anymore cuz i raised it, I just want to set it down cuz I don't like the fugly look. are there any instructions that are out there, cuz my car doesnt bounce because I raised it and the perch is not cut off are there any other things you must do to install them right? do you have to cut the bumpstops 1" or something, I know they might have forgot to do that, but can you tell me anyways thanks. I really want this done before friday.

cutting the perch wont effect the ride.
it might be the bumpstops.. try to lower your car all the way. then lean on the car and see if it even compresses, if it doesnt they probably didnt cut them and your probably riding on the bumpstops(meaning the shocks arent even doing the work). if this is the case i would take it back and tell them to cut it.
when you lowered it all the way, you lean on it and it does compress then thats just how it rides.. sleeved coilovers are known to be bouncy especially when dropped all the way.

what are bumpstops can you post a pic of how they look and how much are you supposed to cut it? thanks, and post a pic thanks, again I'm newbie to suspension I just want to get this out of the way. btw I lowered my car all the way in the front and there are 2 fingers worth of space from the tire and the fender, I dunno what the shop did but thats as far as it goes. ok so I know its the bumpstops.

you lowered it all the way and you still have 2 finger gaps? i dont think its the bumpstops then cause you should be able to go much lower then that. what size tires are you using? is the perch preventing you from lowering the car further?

you see that black rubber peice inside of the spring. thats the bumpstop, its attached to the dust cover(the upside-down cup thing that protects the shock rod from dirt and such). the bumpstop is the little bulge you see up on the top. if your not sure what i'm talking about i'll go home and draw a circle around it for you. i'm at work right now so i dont have the program to do it.

I think it's because of the bumpstop because i had the same problem...
and is it possible to purchase the bumpstop at a dealer or a local shop?
how much do they run around for all 4 shocks?

ok so I took off my shocks today I noticed that those little black thing that is right on top of the springs its metal and its cracked, plus its loose, Im thinking they put it on backwards, k the sleeve thingy is small in the front and long in the back. Is thats how its supposed to be? or the so called big stud, the thing that the nut sits on I dunno whats its called. Im gonna take it off on thursday to see, or just go online and check. =D

k this is what I found right where the gold nut is thats where my red thread begins... is this right or not on a 2002 civic 2dr I dunno how they got it all the way down the shock but I can tell you I took mine off today and it was not like that, dropped all the way and still 2 finger gap, how do you get it this low. Take a look....

and mine look like this

dropped all the way like that; all I can tell you is that the thread is not down all the way in the shock, maybe this is the problem. Oh btw my coils did not come with the little round cylinder thingy, so basically its f*****g up. Imma go to my body shop that put them in and get a brand new pair. Cuz they did not install them right.

What do you mean by the gold cap on the shocks or something? and put the gold cap back on the thread thingy? I am confused I just need some really good installation pictures for gc for 2002 coupe. I think that is the problem. the gold cap thanks for the reply cuz I never noticed that on top of the thread. how does it lock up on the thread or something. Imma check this out on thursday when I have automechanics. You can just pop it off with a flathead right? thanks. I think you solved my problems and since they were wrong he is prolly gonna give me shocks too. hehe I will make him pay
