care free springs
i want some lowering springs...my main concerns are reliability, and durability, and quality. ride quality is very impt. the amount of the drop is not so impt...i want a shock that wont need camber kits, strut bars, or new shocks or struts. i want to be able to just put the springs on, and forget about em...
here are some brands to stimulate ur thinking:
progress, goldline, eibach, neuspeed
ive searched all day with that quirky search engine... i want solid answers
thanks guys
ive got an 01' lx coupe...soon to have 17" with 205-45-17 tires

oh man, ive been searchin all night...nothin but bad news all the way around the board... maybe i wont lower at all.. i think i can live with the gap. i cant believe that these shockks/springs will only last 2 years if ur lucky.. i bought myhonda for its durability and reliability.. lowering it would be a foolish move...or soo im starting to sense.
ive gotta worry about everything from ride quality, to tire wear, to blown struts and shocks, to tire rub, bottoming out, snow problems...man the list goes on...its just not worth it
what do u think?

uh.. i hate to be harsh but... you have to stop living in your pink perfect world... i would like to drop my car 2.5" for $150 and have it ride just like stock... sorry its not going to happen(i'm not trying to flame i'm just being a lil sarcastic, dont take it too offensively)
but ya truth is there's pros and cons to most mods. you cant expect to pay $100 and have everything perfect. whats worth it to you? i think what your looking for is eibach prokit tho. its a mild 1.2" drop. but then again i personally would never waste my money on a 1.2" drop cause no one but me is going to be able to tell my car is dropped. its basically going to look like stock and i wouldnt pay $200 to make my car look stock. but advantages to getting the prokit is: 1) you really dont have to get a camber kit. 2) your stock shocks should last you awhile as they are designed to be used with stock shocks.

).
ride quality will be a lil worse then stock but it should still be nice and comfortable. a pro to it would be, your handling will be better.
price... springs $180. install $80(or free if you DIY). alignment $55(i never got one but recommended).
but ya it just seems like your asking for a lil too much. the correct way to drop a car is get springs(or coilovers), camber kit, new shocks, and maybe some bars. simply just getting springs is taking a shortcut and there are "consenquences" to that. you want it done the right way, its going to cost some money.
what i suggested above is what i thought would fit you best. you should ask yourself... whats worth it to you? for me i know that i'm willing to give up ride quality(to a certain extent) to do it cheap. i'm willing to pay the extra $125 to slam my car. i'm willing to drive much more carefully on the road. i'm willing to spend an a few extra bills to slam my car(just not yet ). will what i get rub? no cause i'll make sure it doesnt. but ya to me, having my car look nice, slammed, and the handling is worth it. is it for you? i would hate to go back to stock, especially with my 18s
What shocks or struts should I use with an Eibach Pro-Kit?
Eibach Pro-Kits are designed to work with original equipment shocks and struts provided they are in good working condition.

"i want a shock that wont need camber kits, strut bars, or new shocks or struts. i want to be able to just put the springs on, and forget about em... " sorry i got the 'pink perfect world' idea from that...
if money isnt an issue, tein flex for sure... 1,600.. dont need stock components, already has a built in camber kit. not only height adjustable, damper adjustable but also spring rate adjustable. you want the best, thats it right there...(well untill jic's come out).
but then how many would spend 1,600 just on suspension... tein ss would be a good choice but its 1050. not cheap either.. i'm personally waiting for the h cup kit to come out. height adjustable, damper adjustable, all for around $600.
get the cup kit, a rear camber kit, alignment and your set... i dont think bars are absolutely necessary(but highly recommended by some).
as for will it rub.. you should be fine with a 2" drop but is it to low for you is the question. 2.25" is perfect for me

its been listed on the website for over 6 months now but ya they havnt released it yet. i just called right now and they said it should be out the first quarter of this year. she said called back in 4-6 weeks. and yes they're height and damper adjustable for civics... i dont think its height adjustable like how coilovers are but height adjustable like the rear konis.
