noises after installing springs
I recently installed the Eibach Pro Kit and I've having noises come from my front left. It only happens when I turn. I jacked it up and took off the wheels to have a look...
The plate that the spring is pushing up on into the top of the strut tower seems to stick while turning but then frees itself. This is where the noise is coming from. I believe it's just an annoying noise and not a mechanical problem, but I have no clue why it is making this noise. I hope that made sense. Anyone got any ideas?

what noise? a popping sound? if so, try tightening that middle bolt under the hood. you know the one that holds the whole strut assembly. if not, it maybe that the top perch is not aligned right. or you didnt install the spring isolator.
the noise is caused by the springs twisting.

I tried tightening the bolt in the middle of the top of the strut tower and it did no good. So should I take it apart again and do it over and what is the spring isolator?

just to make sure what kind of noise is it? a popping? or like a clanking(metal hitting metal).
the spring isolator is that rubber tube that should have came with the stock springs. i think the prokits however also come with their own. it goes on the bottom of the spring where it sits on the lower perch(in other words it goes between the spring and the lower perch).
also the top rubber seat where the spring goes in, one side where the spring goes in is narrower then the other side. the end of the spring should go on the narrow side.

It's more like a popping noise. Definitely not metal on metal. I'll jack it up again and take a look at it. If it's not in the narrower rubber part then I'll take it apart and do it again. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks much!

mine's doing the same thing, only it's making a noise like 2 plastic pieces hitting each other, i'm thinking that i need to tighten the top. if not, then i'm going to have to go check everything else

Yep my noises came back after that guy did something to it. He said he put some rubber plating on the springs and the noise stopped for 1 day and it came back. It only has noises over bumps. He said its cuz the shocks or springs are hitting together and he said thats normal

metal hitting metal noise is usually cause by not installing the spring isolators. its not doing any damage to the car so i wouldnt worry. my car makes both popping and clanking noise. i'm too lazy to get it taken care of so i live with it.

I get some noise too. Not nearly as much as I used to though. Now, I pretty much only get the popping when turing the steering upon backing out of a parking space or something.
