Rubbing with Goldline???
Anyone with Goldline. Does your rear wheels rub against the top of the wheel well with two or more people in the car? I got mine Goldline installed last week. The drop is perfect and all
, but the passenger rear wheel rubs against the top of the wheel well when I go over bumps
. These bumps are not big bumps, they are just small humps on the road too. When I have more than two people in the car, both of my rear wheels rub against the top of the wheel well going over small humps on the road. Did I install my Goldlines incorrectly? The passenger rear tire is messed up pretty bad from the rubbing, please help!!!

thing about goldline springs... alot of people complained about the (old) coupe springs on a coupe. the fronts fender gap would be 1 finger(keep in mind it varies by tire size) and the rear would be none. alot of people didnt like this so what they did was they used sedan springs on their coupe... so now it would be a 1 finger gap in the front and 1 finger gap in the rear.... goldline acknowledge that people disliked the drop coupe springs gave so on nov 29th they released a new re-designed coupe spring that fixes this "problem".
solution: call up goldline and get a set of the new re-designed coupe spring or get the sedan spring.. their customer service is great

I have 17's with 205 40zr tires and mine has never rubbed with Goldlines. Sounds like whoever installed them didn't do something right or gave you a lot of positive camber on that one wheel for it to be the only one that rubs.

Thanks everyone, especially VNlilMAN (for saving my life the second time). I have Konig Verdicts 17X7 with 215/45/17 tires. I installed the Goldlines myself with the help from VNlilMAN's DIY guide
. I think I did everything correctly with the exception of the rubber boot on the tie-rod. I had the car aligned on the third day after installation, so I don't think it's an alignment issue.

did you get a camber kit? i'm assuming you did... n thats why i dont really like 215-45-17 tires, there too thick.. i have 215-40-18 and its a similar to those and i just hate it... i dont have a camber kit so i dont rub, the negative camber helps my wheels tuck when i hit a bump or something.. and one time i was parked in my friends driveway, alot of weight was on my rear driver side tire and my wheels were tucked.. couldnt even see my tire no more.. but ya i'm sure if i had a camber kit and it was within spec, my tire would have been laying on the [fender] lip..

I did get SPC camber kit, front and rear
, because I didn't want uneven tire wear. I thought 17" rims with 215/45/17 tires are the exact size with the stock wheels and tires? Are they too thick?

I researched alot before I bought. I got sedan springs and it is perfect. The rear doesn't tuck or rub, even with weight on it, I just drove 2000 miles round trip with lots of luggage in the back seat as well as a sub box in the trunk (at least 250) pounds and had no rubbing at all...call gold line!

Has anyone got the new redesigned coupe springs from Goldline installed? I spoke to Jeff at Goldline today about the rubbing. He said the reason my rear tires are rubbing against the top is because my tires are too wide. Is this true? I have 17X7 Konig Verdicts w/ 215/45/17 Nitto tires, SPC camber kit, and the old version of Goldline coupe springs installed.
He also said I won't be able to carry multiple people on the car due to the softness of the spring. I understand Goldline designed the springs softer than Eibach or Neuspeed for ride comfort, but if a car can only carry one person, why not just get a motorcycle? Heck, even a motorcycle can carry more than one person!
Anyways, Jeff is going to send me the new resigned rear springs this week, and he can't gurantee that the new springs will work. I'm thinking about switching to Neuspeed sports, my rear tires are fu*ked up from rubbing. I'm loosing patience with Goldline.!!!

Yeah, maybe your tires are too wide. If you get neuspeeds, you'll still have the problem. It isn't the springs that make your car rub...look at Vnlilman's car, he has neuspeeds and 18's but he doesn't rub...his tires must not be very wide. I have 215/40/17's and no rubbing at all with goldline sedan springs on my coupe. No matter what kind of springs you get, if it is within an inch and a half from the tire to the fender, I'll bet you'll still have problems. Think about different tires. Keep in mind, the new coupe springs are going to be about an inch higher than the springs you have on now.

didnt i say it was mainly cause how goldlines were designed? i assure you the new redesigned springs will fix this problem. and thats why i dont like 215-45-17 tires, they're on the thick side. my tires are the similar size, thats why i hate them for this reason. but ya i kinda understand goldline, its your responsibility to make sure things dont rub..
reason why your rubbing is mainly cause how the springs are.. they are very low in the rear. your tires dont help, they are slightly bigger then stock and cause it to rub even more. also you have better chances of rubbing with a correct camber then with a very negative camber cause with negative camber helps tuck the wheel in..
but ya again, i assure you the new springs will solve your problems.. if not i'll tell you have you can fix it.
