lowered 1.5
ok, i searched and i really haven't found an answer to this. I have stock wheels and tires, used Goldline lowering springs to lower 1.5 inches in front and back. The car looks great but there is very little wheel gap left. When I turn my steering wheel to the right very far something squeeks and it sounds just like the right tire is rubbing. The left tire doesn't make this noise?
#1) Why would only lowering it 1.5 inches drop it this close? (I guess cuz of stock wheels and tires)
#2) What wheel/tire combo will give me the best results (good drop, no rubbing)
#3) My camber seems to be a little off in the back (especially back right). It's not really noticeable, the car rides great but will I see any negative consequences to the camber being off. I mean 180 is alot of money to spend on a camber correction kit.
Thanks for the help.
Eric

#1.....dont know, mine drop 1.3......not close to rubbing
#2.....many many choices.......
#3.....180 is alot of money......but so is 800$$ for tires every year.......
and you did get your car aligned correct???????
alignment is better than nothing (40$$).......
but w/ 1.5 drop you'll probaly need the camber kit......

hey pimpy, that sounds like a tech question to me, the concern is tire rubb, but that aint whats happening with a 1.5 drop, the noise you hear are your springs settling, it can last for while, so get used to it, it took mine ( 2.0 drop ) about two months to shut-up...........
1.5 only i bet ur car doesnt even look like its lowered
on my old 99 civic i droped it almost 2.5 and no where near rubbing even though there was almost no gap between my tires and fender
ur tires are definitely not rubbing

#1. Your spring is settling. Don't want to hear anything.....put a little of grease on the contact point on your top and lower spring perch.
#2. You are good with 17"rim and profile 45 tire.
#3. Rear camber kit only cost you $130/pair. With 1.5" drop, probably don't need it.
I learn it from experince, and I dropped my car 3"
Hope this help.
