Will the shocks/springs off an RSX fit the civic since the suspension is so silmilar? What about mixing and matching parts to make it fit? lol

I'll let you guys know when i figure it out. I already have the full RSX suspension. Just want your thoughts on this and whether or not its just a dream.

I figure the shocks are stiffer so it would be better and maybe the stock rsx setup would lower a civic, if not I'd slap my neuspeeds on it.

The RSX springs have a "significantly higher" spring rate and would not work (properly) on the 01 Civic. Dimension wise, they are very close. In fact, the RSX springs would actually fit in the 01 Civic spring perch. However, the ride quality would be horrible.

the springs are interchangable, size wise but are the struts? cause the control arm and everything would have to line up right wouldnt it? i heard the rsx struts were shorter then the civics, is this true? and whats the spring rate for those(rsx springs)? ours is 190 lb right? i'm asking cause maybe we could swap our stock ones for rsx stock ones. or maybe possibly use true coilovers that are made for the rsx.

a few variables are being left out of the equation. the springs may fit on the perches but were mostly worried about ride height. the whole reason for switching out springs is to go lower right?? all lowering springs have to have a "significantly" higher spring rate because you must increase restriction in the travel of the suspension as not to bottom out the shocks on a lower ride. so it would be sweet if the springs were significantly stiffer as well as shorter than the civics stock springs. then lets hope the combo of spring rate of lenght work out on the civc which weights less then the rsx....good luck

"must increase restriction in the travel of the suspension as not to bottom out the shocks on a lower ride" is a terrible misconception. A misconception often followed by suspension companies who shouldn't be in the suspension business. An increase in spring rate is designed for one reason; to improve/decrease body roll. "Bottoming out" is an unfortunate part of the equation when lowering a vehicle. There is "no" cure for bottoming out after lowering a vehicle.

One thing to keep in mind, spring rate & ride height(or spring height) are 2 separate issues. A spring can be built to any spring rate at height (within reason).

i'm not too sure why Decamo is interested in the RSX suspension fitting our cars but i'm interested cause 1, maybe we could use the RSX shocks when lowering our cars since it is designed for a higher spring rate. 2) maybe we could use their aftermarket suspension products on our car. since we are only limited to a few true coilover systems, maybe the rsx has more options. but ya i'm not too sure why anyone would want to swap rsx springs on our cars.

I'm mostly interested in the shocks. Higher dampening rate and shorter stroke (I think). Also i just want to know if it works. Bought it 'cause it was cheap.

Who cares about springs? If the stock rsx springs do lower the civic than yeah i will bolt it on as is but otherwise my intentions are to use my neuspeeds.

ok guys, i got a question for yah. Im doing the type r swap and have been told that civic suspension MIGHT get in the way of the type r hubs, so what i was thinking, could I go out and get tein coilovers and have this problem solved. I know a lot goes into this question, but I could use some help with this. Thanks guys!

i doubt anyone would know that answer since the only person here who get a k20 engine swap was htown. i dont see why it would tho since the engines in the engine bay while the suspension parts are in the fender well... teins might work cause their skinnier but i'm thinking it would work with the stock suspension as well. i would say worry about the big problem first, getting the swap.

i have spoken to numerous people in regards to the rsx suspension

1) in fact the rsx struts are LONGER then the civic...making them worse of a replacement then anything when using lowering springs!

2) the rsx people have it great! they can use the koni dampers from a 01 civic and they are estianlly shortend struts! they owns!

you goldline. I have those lowering springs. They Suck! I am upgradeing to coilovers by skunk2 or another brand I have yet to decide. your springs are to soft. Major Body roll!
