Update on squeaky newly-installed springs
As I've posted a while back, had rumbling/squeaking sound from my Sportline right after it was installed. When I had them out for installing Koni's today, surely the paint's scratched off big time on the bottom of the springs (as predicted by Eibach's engineer).
Anyway, especially on stock shocks, apparently, the springs will scrape the metal base. Solution was simple. Rubber tubbing. I'm not too sure what material, as the shop guy did it, but it was heavy duty (three times thicker than the rubber sleeve provided with the springs), and just 180 around the bottom end of the springs.
No more noise. Of course, 500% better ride with Koni's.

Yeah, the shop was quite nice and was gonna do the base for me without charge anyway, but I decided I'd like Koni's now too.
So they didn't charge my labour (for Koni's AND padding the base of the springs). 3 hours and 2 technicians.... I suppose I got my money's worth!
