Koni Yellow's full front replacement out
I got a question for the forum readers. I stopped at the performance shop close to where I work to get prices on suspension parts. I specifically was inquiring about the Koni Yellows. I explained to the guy at the shop that you have to cut and drill the front strut housing to use the Koni's. He called one of his suppliers to inquire about the Koni's, since I was asking about the labor charge to get the housings cut. The shop had told me that I could get those, but that there are also full replacement strut and housings from Koni for our cars. I tried calling Koni, but got an answering machine. Anyone know about this, and any place I might be able to get them cheap. I got excellent prices from the shop(a little better than what Rob quoted me), but the full replacement Koni's seemed a little expensive.

Not sure. He checked with the dude to make sure it was for my 2002 LX. I double checked with the shop owner and he told me that they now have replacements for our fronts. I hope it's true. The price he gave me for them was more than what Rob had quoted me for the Koni's I'm assuming that it is true because the other parts I inquired about the shop beat Rob's prices without me even mentioning them. I pmed tornactive about it, and hoping Rob might know about them. I'll probably be ordering them from the shop tomorrow if my paycheck looks good enough. Hopefully it will though.
Anyone else know about these.

Well, I can you one thing, they are probably out for the RSX. The good thing is the strut will fit our car and since the yellows are adjustable, I cannot see why we could not put them in a 7th gen.

Wow, sounds good. Finally a full replacement. Expensive though. Hopefully they were able to improve on the front strut assembly in some way as well (instead of just selling you an OEM spec assembly with their shock inserted).
Why don't you just email koni to make sure. They usually answer your email pretty quick or give Rob a call. He should know if they're out yet. But yeah if the RSX struts fit maybe we can use their struts. They have more than just Konis out for them.

I got a hold of Gordon at Koni North America Tech support. Talked to him for a little bit about them about the Koni's. He told me that there is no full replacement front for our civics(which everyone knows). I asked him about the RSX and he said they are not out yet, but even though the RSX and Civic are similar, there are little differences between the two. I can't wait to spend my half hour lunch talking to the shop owner by my work about this.

those bastards....gettin our hopes up for nothing
from my research on the similarities and differences between the RSX suspension and the 7thgen civic suspension, it seems to me like any front strut for the RSX would work in a 7thgen. this really dawned on me when i was browsing the Sept 02 SCC on page 127 (its an ad for JIC Magic) and saw a pic of their FLT-A2 full coilover for the RSX (i think its safe to assume its for the RSX anyway) and it looks just like the stock strut on our 7thgens as far as the mounting points, the steering control arm attachment point, and the other little peice of metal where i guess the ABS sensor wires go. i look at some tech drawings of both struts from the RSX and 7thgen and they look almost identical.
so it seems to me that one could use something like that coilover from JIC on a 7thgen, or anyother suspension components really that are for the RSX.

i'm not sure if the rsx suspension will directly fit into our cars or not but just cause they look similar doesnt mean that it'll always work. even if they are a couple mm's off its not going to work right. most mcpherson struts probably look similar but doesn't necesarily mean that its going to all fit the same
Cutting and drilling the OE strut housings is not hard to do. I'd invest in a tubing cutter and get a much better job than a hack saw. Access to a drill press helps for the mounting holes, but you can do it with a hand held electric drill. You can do that whole mod job in 15 min to a half hour with the right equipment. Be sure to polish the burrs of the the inside lip of the housings after you do the cutting. Stick the shocks into the housing, bolt and torque and you are ready to reinstall the struts on the car. Oh yeah, a really good spring compressor helps. My tire guy popped the springs off mine at no charge.
I have about 5000 miles on my ProKit with Koni yellows now and I just don't see how it could get any better for my driving style. (I like to go on twisty mountain roads as fast as my nerve will alow. The suspension can go faster than I will, I'm sure.
