Yea, the 711s seem kinda loud to me. They are especially loud now since I still need an alignment to fix the severe toe-out from the change in suspension. Camber kit on Thursday.
The next chance I have to take the front struts apart, I think I might put some grease between the black rubber cushion and the red separator cup to see if that helps at all. That's the one of the places I didn't grease.

new development for me-- whenever I go over a bouncy surface on a road the left rear area of the car squeaks with the bounce occasionally.. I don't think it's the car whining.. it almost sounds like it could be the damper or something.. any similar stories?

I usually hear the noise from the rear left too, but I'm not sure it's the shock. Always assumed it was just the springs moving around.
Well, one question for you guys. I have 215 tires and it rubs in the back against the fender when I have teh camber fairly perpendicular to the ground. Do you guys just have 205 tires that prevent that or do you just leave it with negative camber. I might try to roll the fenders with a baseball bat, but it's pretty hard to do. I guess it just takes some time.

The front still rubs in high speed small radius turns.

for the front you could always remove the fender well completely like torreto has(i dont think he comes here anymore). and keep in mind with smaller tires you might not be able tuck since your going to have a bigger fender gap. imo 205-40 is too thin, might want to go with 205-45 or 215-40 if 215-45 is too thick

I was thinking of the fender well removal trick, but I'm gonna be putting in sidemarkers that will require several electronic components mounted inside the fender. I don't want to leave those things exposed to the elements. I'll have to wait until the sidemarker project starts before I figure it out, maybe I can mount the electrical stuff somewhere else.
and since the 215/45s don't rub right now (rears at least), I might just go with 215/40 instead.

Hey Inanimate, can you get a good picture of your rolled fenders posted. I rolled mine myself and it's pretty ghetto. Paint I believe should chip under there because your bending the metal, and it's not perfectly even under there with a baseball bat. I wanted to know how much did you get the fender to roll.
I think 205/45 would be the best tire, but it's not a very common size among the tire companies or a common tire size found in local tire stores, so it makes finding a good deal on tires hard.

well I had someone listen to the left rear area of my car as I drive it.. my conclusion is that the creaking I hear is coming from the coilover assembly.. probably the strut. could this be fixed just by greasing it up? i unsterstand the damper has some sort of oil in it.. maybe it's leaked somehow?

odd that you should bring this up again. lately the noises have gotten worse and worse, so i finally contacted B+G again. they said NO one with the new generation civics has reported any kind of problems with the front springs making noises when turning. so it must be an installation issue. they said something about using the factory bearings, which I am not, because it doesn't look like they'll fit
they are sending me installation directions finally, so I can double check everything I did and see if it resolves any issues.

He's not saying the whole truth / he forgot that I reported it.
I will call tommorrow and have it reported. They still have not resolved the issue for me!
My rear suspension is only half resolved. They sent me two rear suspensions twice now - One of the rear dampers looked like it was refurbished and was not the right size!!!!

whoa.. your dust boot cover for the rear is underneath the bumbstop? mine isn't like that! THAT'S why it keeps getting wedged into the upper mount area
dammit B+G I WANT NEW COILOVERS
also that rubber ring was in a different location when i recieved it.. argh. i need to get these instructions so I can finally tell B+G what's going on.
so you haven't been getting the popping anymore inanimate?

I still have the popping in the front, I've just accepted the fact that it's a design flaw. My rear dust boots have torn, so I'm gonna have to get new ones. Do you guys have the contact info for B&G?
IMO, the auto-adjusting dampners are not good if you plan on loading the car up. When I have people in the back seat, the dampners percieve the extra load as hard cornering and the ride becomes stiffer (and uncomfortable).
The concensus has been B&G for race (no passengers in the back seat, ever), TEIN for street (meaning sometimes driving around w/ passengers in the back). This is completely true. I'll have to recommend against the B&Gs if you drive around a lot w/ people in the back seat.

when i called he said it definitely wasn;t a design flaw. he said i'm missing one of the stock parts. also when i told him about my dust boot cover getting stuck in the chassis, he said that's normal, it's going to happen. maybe i'll have to give him another call

Well, I bought mine awhile back with inanimate and mex. I thought I had problems at first, but I think I was picky. Mine only make noise on slow turns or when I back out of a drive way or parking lot. But other than that, it drives quiet, and a little rough on bad streets. The handling is awesome though. I like the setup and have gotten use to the stiff ride. One thing good about the stiff ride is that I don't have to worry about bottoming out ever really and going over speed bumps is cool because since the car doesn't give much, the car won't bounce to the ground.
I don't know about my dust boot though. I'll give it a check this weekend. Hope everyone figures out the bugs to this thing. Isn't it great how old this thread is...haha. Nice to cya Mex and inanimate. Your car looks nice by the way inanimate. My car is just a little lower than yours with 205/45/17 tires. the back is a little tucked on mine.
