Think im making the next plunge.

so I think my next substantial upgrade will be some coil overs, my eyes are pretty set on the tein street advance (2)? I like the drop capabilities and I think I can still close my wheel gap on 16s and bring it close to stock in the winter, I'm also interested in the dampening and I would like to have some tune ability with my first brand new suspension setup, but before I do that I was wondering if anyone had any extended experience with these or other more reliable options, please be capable of backing up what you say, ive done some research and the tein sound like a good option to me, but I need educated input, its a 03 civic ex em2, I have a lot of trunk weight and always will in this car, thank you for any actual related help.

Tein makes a great product and I am sure you will be happy with them. I dont have personal experience with Tein but I do have dampening adjustable coilovers. I thought it would be nice to have the option to adjust the dampening and honestly I don't ever touch it. Once I got it where I wanted it, I didn't touch it again. Not to say you won't but for me it hasn't really been too beneficial.

Teins can be pretty bumpy even on the softest setting. If you want pure performance/track your car i'd go with them. But if you want stock like ride quality with better handling i'd go with koni yellows and eibach/tein springs. Another great setup would be bilstein shocks with eibach/tein springs. There is a reason high end cars use bilsteins they are super comfy for daily driving, but perform very well when pushed. Same with the Koni's, Dinan uses the Konis in a lot of its Bmw builds.

Re: Think im making the next plunge.

the street basis is supposedly the upgrade of the street basic. the basic was notorious for blowing out on lowered cars and was generally the black sheep of the tien company. some have even accused the basic of being outsourced to china because of the lack of quality. i personally only recommend two setup's for the 7th gen regarding quality for price and thats either KONI yellow with Ground Control sleeves or full Progress t Technology coil overs. those would be the only choices i would consider in that price bracket. you don't really need tunabilty if the rite spring is coupled with the rite damper like the two setups i just mentioned.

Re: Think im making the next plunge.

**** never mind i thought you wrote street basis lol. you should be good with the advanced otherwise the other two recommendations i gave you would be better if you can find them cheaper.

Re: Think im making the next plunge.

Because the Koni are such a PITA to Instal I would go for the Progress with a custom spring rate.
