cracked shock or? (pic)
cracked shock or? (pic)
I know the car has been hit on this side from an accident by the previous owner but it was repaired by Honda.
I do have vibration in the steering wheel which I've had for the past 15k miles. It's never got worse and the car drives straight. The car does pull to left when I floor it, which started around 7k miles ago.
Tire wears on the inside, not as bad on the passenger side. Currently needs a new tire.
I currently have an overheating issue when idle. I ruled out the fan which leaves the radiator or headgasket, maybe something else?
So I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense to fix everything on this car and keep it. Could this crack cause uneven tire wear or would that be something else? If it's something else I guess I'll fix a few things and sell it. I don't have anywhere to do the work since I live in an apartment complex which means I have to take it to a mechanic and pay more.

Is this crack on the actual shock? Or the shock dust cover? Honda fixed this? Can you take it back to them? You will need to change the shocks out. And get an aliment as I think the knuckle/Wheel hub is bent as well. Its easy to check the hubs by a dial indicator but I had my knuckles bent as well.

Ok I guess it's nothing serious which is a relief. Maybe I just need some thing simple to fix the suspension. I dropped it off at the mechanic and he said it sounds like my head gasket is the issue. It'll be 960 out the door but they seem very reputable and only deal with hondas. Oh well. I've done 20k miles and only had to change the front pads.
Symptoms are overheating at idle. Reservoir full and not going down at all. Fans are working. Said they will pressure test to confirm.
edit: They called me back. Said it was definitely the head gasket. My struts and suspension are apparently alright. I do have a click when I accelerate though so I think they're just trying to keep the cost down for me. I think it must be a lca bushing causing the click because my axles are ok. Anyway, I don't really know why I'm updating this lol.
