2001 -up civic/2002 RSX shortened struts
So your saying that I take off my coilovers and put in the struts which have coilovers on them already[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG][IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG] How much for the rear only?

So basically this is a full coilover setup...do I need to purchase anything else because your struts in order to make this work? Are you selling struts or some true coilovers? Meaning, do I need springs still or are they built into the unit (true/full coilovers)....

So then I can use the Ground Control Spring since they already have a sleeve but no spring[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG][IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG] How is the ride quality as compared to Konis.
This setup will not work. Try to follow me on this.

2)you have an aftermarket spring with a set spring rate.
you cant use an aftermarket spring that is only ment to be used with OEM hight struts. the spring rates will be way off and you will be bouncing down the road as if you had hydros on your car. It would be no different then cutting your stock springs. the reason you dont bounce with GC's is because there springs are set to be moved in different hights. It is a softer spring. there for you can move the hight of it. Granted GC's do tend to bounce with a stock strut. But not with Koni's.(i know i have them). an aftermarket spring is very hard, cant be ajusted in any way. if it is then it will make the car choppy and very ruff. To make it easy to understand it will make you bounce.
Dont buy this bogus setup. Get GC's with Koni's you cant go wrong.

Allow me to get up to date here.

I ask this because when I did my Konis, I bought a like new set of struts, springs, mounting plates and all for $125 from a salvage yard. So I now have my complete OE struts that we took off my car. So I am somewhat familiar with the setup and mods that can be made.

I'm deffinitely interested in these. Riding around on stock shocks w/ GC coilovers (dropped 2-2.5") is real rough on the car, no to mention the driver. Don't think that it's easy enough to raise it right back up either though. It looks too damn good sitting solo....
Please give us more info regarding these struts. Like Bartkat mentioned, pictures would sell twice as many struts for you in an instant. Maybe even a diagram for those of us who want to fully understand the differences INSIDE the shock also.

Well it seems that all aftermarket suspension kits are not the same, Aftermarket springs are made for stock length struts because most new cars don't have aftermarket struts available for years. So they work with what they have to work with.
Aftermarket springs have a 15 to 30 percent stiffer than stock rate to them, As most will notice when installing a set of
lowering springs on the stock struts its almost not required to have a spring compressor because the springs fit on the stock strut loose. Complete loss of the factory spring compression is lost, which in turn shortens up the suspension travel of the strut and causes the strut to bottom out on the bump stop and some times sit right on top of them causing the car to bounce over bumps beause the spring is no longer preloaded like factory to give the car the designed ride the suspension built for.
So the simplest way to over come this is to shorten the body to allow for the shortened spring, to get the suspension to perform close to factory specs to reduce the bottom out of the strut. Shortening the piston brings back the compression on the spring to give the car something to ride on again, Granted the preload is less than factory because everything is now shorter than stock. But with the complete package built as one the ride quality is much better than just putting a lowering spring on a stock strut. The handling is improved because of increased spring rate and lower center of gravity. Stiffer suspension for the street not always the best set up.
After 12 years of doing this type of set up, with large companies doing the almost the same technique I would think that the set-up works very well.
I know the others don't explain how they do it. I am not you normal suspension company, real world daily driving is a lot different than driving around a smooth race track

Stock housing are used with up-graded internals, I could design a complete new housing but the cost would be very high and not really make the housing any better than the factory ones.
The factory housing are very good quality or Honda would not use them.

Thats why I design the struts like a do because I don't like to see or hear how bad someones car rides when they use
sleeve kits or other types of kits that are really not meant to be driving on the street.

Well finally at last the pictures will be up.
I made some new mods to allow the strut to drop the car 1 inch using the factory spring, or the car can be lowered even more depending on which lower spring is used.
I also moved the steering arm down to improve on steering response after the car has been lowered. Change made because of r&d work on prototype car.
And yes the strut can also be supplied with the adjusting nut built on them to raise and lower the car to your desired height.
I see most of you have lowering springs already so may if your looking to go a little lower and don't really need the adjustabiltiy than the new non-adjustable struts may do the job you looking for.
The valving is also up-graded along with new improved oil.
This strut should solve most of everyones problems with poor ride quality and strut failure, because of shortened body
shortened piston design.

The prototype car used Bec-Tech modified factory springs, so to answer your question will lowering springs work, Yes because I built them mainly to be used with lowering springs because I know most people don't like to use the stock springs because they are to soft.
Lowering spring and strut provide a much needed improvement over other set ups
The question I have for you, how is the ride quality with the neuspeed springs on the stock length struts.

Ride quality sux with my current setup. The stock setup obviously cant handle my Neuspeed springs. Id like to keep my springs and replace the stock hardware but I need to lower the back end about 1.5 inches. If I cant get the back to come down Im gonna have to buy GC coils. I would get the Koni Yellows but they're gonna raise my car rather than lower it.
2 issues:
:: Reduce bumpiness
:: Lower rear ride height
What type of warranty come with this setup? I'm in Florida so it's not like I can drive up and return them if I have a problem. Let me know.

Correct on this version the damping is not adjustable, but the body and piston have been shortened and the ride height is adjustable.
I don't see that in the H&R cup kit.

First the strut will work with the springs you have and also lower the rear like you would like.
Warranty is for material and workmanship for 5 years or 60,000 miles which ever comes first.
