Cheap coilovers
Re: Cheap coilovers
Cheap coilovers aren't your solution. You can't properly lower a car for 400 without either destroying tires or the suspension exploding.
You can get a cheap spring system that lowers your car 1.5" but it will destroy your OEM shocks in a short time so you might as well get new shocks while your at it. As soon as shocks are involved your looking at 800+ for a setup that will actually last.
Progress makes good coilovers that can be had for about 900 dollars if you time it right. However even this setup will cost more because you will need a camber kit (100-200) and a 4 wheel alignment which can run at about 150.
So, if you want a "Cheap" way to lower your car, better off not lowering it at all.

Do it right, or don't do it at all.
Get Eibach Sportlines or Tein S springs, they both give ~1.5" drop. And then pick up Tokico HP shocks for all around up front, or when your stock ones go out. ~$180 for the springs, and I think ~$500-$600 for the shocks.

Ugh, I've just spent around $2.5k just not looking forward to putting that much more into my car..
So far I've got just over $1k in drag-dr33 rims, and some kuhmo low profile tires, and it looks weird as **** theres a big gap in the wheel well, several inches, I'd just like to lower it just a bit so it doesnt look quite as weird

Re: Cheap coilovers
I hate to say but its true. If you dont have the money now, you will have the money later. Might as well save now, instead of paying double later.
Just leave the car as is till you get the cash.

Re: Cheap coilovers
That's enough.
It's been made clear, not only will buying cheap coilovers actually decrease performance in exchange for low, but its dangerous. Basically equivalent to cut springs.
