Question Control Arm Bushing or Control Arm??

I ran over a curb awhile back and did some damage to my car. The people at my Honda dealership gave me a packet full of recommendations. For their task of "Inspect steering and sway bar components", they listed an observation of "Found control arm bushings worn/loose" and recommended to "Replace control arm bushings & Perform four wheel alignment". What bothers me is that my passenger side rear wheel is tilted (the top of the wheel toward the inside and the bottom of the wheel toward the outside). So I wanted to know if I should replace the whole Control Arm or just the Bushings like they suggested. Thanks...

If it's the rear upper contol arm (which is what would cause the negative camber you're describing), I'd probably go the safer route and replace the whole thing.

Ok, thanks alot...I was wondering why Honda wouldn't mention that (especially in an attempt to charge me more), but it also kinda made sense to me that my wheel leaning like that wouldn't be caused by just worn/loose bushings. Assuming that rear "upper" control arm means that there's also a rear "lower" control arm, should I replace both or just the upper one?

Re: Control Arm Bushing or Control Arm??

check the prices for a new arm. they not expensive.
I cracked one of mine and ended up simply replacing all of them for new ones.
now i have one spare (the other was dead cracked) that i can simply install new bushings at my leisure.
Align it and see.
Every car is different. Every hit is different. not even identical twins are identical.
if yeh hit something, bolts will move first. then control arms. but if bushings are loose, all is saved with exception of bushings.

I would not worry the rear arms until an alignment either way. yeh describes camber, but they change camber the more you compress it, different than our fronts.
they will do an assessment before the alignment anyways, if good shop.
