Really? I'm surprised it even performs well on snow, I can't tell by looking at it. When you say snow, do you mean light snow or heavy snow?

Well I live in Ohio, we don't get a lot of snow but usually 3-4 significant storms a year. I had them on in 2011 when the mid-west/east got hammered with all that snow, I delivered pizzas at that time so they had lots of snow miles on them, I never got stuck, never had trouble stopping or turning even at higher speeds. Comparable to the Michelins I've run in the past, FAR better than the Bridgestone's that came with the car new.

The only complaint I had with them was noise after about 20k miles, I like a quiet car. Delivering is hard on tires though so who knows how much of an effect that had.

When I said heavy snow, I meant like around 10 to 20 cm (4-8 inches) of snow where the snow trucks haven't passed yet. I'm curious, what kind of delivery do you make? I mean, delivery is still driving, does it affect your driving? Or is it simply that delivery makes you driver more miles than usual?

Yeah by significant I mean 8+ inches. We get 2-4 inches quite often during the winter. I delivered pizzas, people don't like driving in the snow so when we got some I'd be on the road for 8+ hours non-stop.

The only reason it was so hard on tires was the constant city miles, always turning.

to be fair, lots of tires get noisy as they age. there is just less tire and shallower grooves. as with anything, you will always find negative reviews. i have a feeling quite a few of those were from clueless drivers who know nothing about cars or tires, or cheaped out and didnt get an alignment, or have other suspension problems. for some people to say the tire barely lasted 10k miles is crazy (for any tire) unless you have serious issues.

exception given to extreme performance tires - they last 8k.

I was about to post something about bad reviews and all because I saw many of them.

Did anyone else use or used General Altimax HP tires around here?
Or are there any equivalent tires in the same price range and quality?

I like to have many things so that I can compare them together and make a choice among them.
