Groundcontrol Coilover instruction?

Received my GC coilover today in the mail. It didnt come with any instructions or anything. Anyone have any? Any DIY? How do I put them on Tokico Hp shock/struct?

I searched around and I read some have to cut the perch or whatever you call it, cut bump stop, put electrical tape..I don't know. Anyone have any idea? Or do I just slip it in the Tokico HP

what you're thinking is the ground control (what you have) pair with koni yellow struts.

with the yellows, u have to hack ur stock struts and fit the yellows in the stock strut and put the GC over it.

with the tokicos, its a direct replacement to the OEM strut. so all u need to do is slide the GC over and into the tokico strut, and then install the whole assembly back onto the car.

No worries, so you have GC and Tokico HP also? I will let you know if I encounter any problems. Thx

Re: Groundcontrol Coilover instruction?

I know this is a dumb question but with the gc coilover. Does spinning right(up) means lower and spinning left(down) mean higher?

Meaning clockwise is lowered
counterclockwise not lowered?

Re: Groundcontrol Coilover instruction?

Ok, this is what I got in the mail.

1. What am I suppose to do with those 2 yellowish ring on the left? Are those bumpstop? Do I replace those with the oem bumpstop? Im confused!

2. Those 2 black rubber/plastic thingy on the right, Do I put those on the shock then slide the sleeve over?

3. There are 6 of those rubber black ring(kinda look like a rubber band) that came in a ziplock. Are these the same question 2? Put them on the shock, then slide the sleeve over?

Thanks.

1. yes. replace the oem bump stop.

2. if u are useing tokico, then no. they are not necessary.... those are made for koni yellow inserts. but if u can fit them on ur tokicos and then still able to slide the GC sleeve over the strut, then yes. use them.

3. short answer: you will not be using these with ur tokico.... because these are made specifically for koni yellows. to put a rubber gasket on the tube that is being inserted into the oem strut (but you will not be doing this with the tokicos

2. I am using Tokico HP. If I dont use these, what will I use to make the GC sleeve stay in place on the shock/struct? What will I use for the 2 fronts and 2 rear? I know you said if I can use them, then use it but I only have those 2 for the rear shocks..none for the front.

3. I see.

hey nguyen, sorry for not responding earlier. i went on vacation this week and didnt bring my laptop with me

2. they should fit in the strut pretty tight. fitment is pretty precise. but this is a tricky subject (sleeve fitment). i believe there are a few different packages and you should have bought them according to your specification.

http://www.ground-control-store.com/...gory.php/CA=55

if you notice, u will be able to select the different type of sturt ur sleeve will go over. different strut setups will be slightly different from one another.

on a side note:

the 2001 kit is different from the 2002 kit because of the top mount.

the 2003-2005 are different than the 01/02 because depending on strut, they use a biger inter diameter for the strut (01-02 have 50mm strut, and 03-05 use a 55mm strut aka slightly bigger strut)

Been working all week. Anyways, I ordered the GC coilover from this site
http://www.jdmhub.com/index.php?rout...duct_id=112363
This is what it is said: "Compatible Shocks: Stock,Tokico Premium,Tokico Illumina,Tokico Spec-D"

So, I assume it should fit. The pic below is what it came with. I cant actually try them yet cause they havent ship my Tokico blue yet. Those things are hard to find. I tried everywhere! Any info will help me on this subject. Thanks

Re: Groundcontrol Coilover instruction?

I think you have them reversed; rear on front, front on rear. I've never used ground controls so I could be totally wrong, but that's what it looks like..

You got it right. Longer sleeve is front and shorter is rear.*

See what I mean when I said different GC are made for different struts and different years???

The company that sent you sent you the wrong GC.*
I would return it and order directly from GC

What year is ur car? (because different years use different sized strut. It's a pain in the *** thing Honda did)

What year tokicos blues did u buy? What's it's serial number?

Re: Groundcontrol Coilover instruction?

1). I got these from JDM hub site, and they specially said it will work with tokico hp

2.) My car is 2001 Honda Civic ex coupe

3.) Front Serial# TOHB3204 & TOHB3205
Rear Serial # TOHU3741
All of them are made in 2011
I believe these are new tokico blue. I ordered these about 2 half weeks ago and they told me Tokico just assemble these.

Re: Groundcontrol Coilover instruction?

email JDM hub and show them the picture and tell them the **** they sent you doesnt fit.

front left: HB3205
front right: HB3204
left/right rear: HU3741

1. email the company you bought GC and tell them it doesnt fit. get a proper replacement. tell them it doesnt fit on the tokico HB3205/3204. reference tokico's website if needed.
http://www.tokicoperformanceshocks.c...mk=3&mkt=Honda

2. email ground control directly. actually give them a call. they have EXCELLENT customer service. tell them "WTF UR **** DOESNT FIT" (well, not like that..but u get the point) and they will most likely fix ur order or tell you what needs to be done.
